Jalouse Magazine TranslationThanks to Coralie, Eman, and Theresa for the translations!
Coralie:
It talks about her: She smokes (quite a lot I think).
Translation : I just came back from Sundance, it was my second time. Four years ago, it seemed like everyone was talking about movies. This time, people only kept talking about the new pair of Puma that was given as a goodie (« distribuées à la criée » is a french expression) and parties people should go to.
(Journalist) « In a few weeks, (I think that she was interviewed back in January), she’ll start filming Twilight, directed by Catherine Hardwicke [...]. Twilight follows the story of a teenage girl from Phoenix who moves to Forks, WA, to fall in love with a vampire. »
It tells us that she’s been asked by music labels to record a CD but she declined. The journalist then asks her if she has ever suffered for love and she answers « yes ».
Also, this is the translation of the introduction:
In Into the Wild, Sean Penn's beautiful movie, she lit up the screen. At 17, Kristen Stewart has a long (comme un bras is a weird expression in french, I wouldn't how to translate it in english) filmography, smokes, doesn't drink but chats. The little girl in Panic Room has grown up. Meeting in a parking, in West Hollywood.
Eman (first part only):
In this year, she started filming with Catherine Hardwicke, author of Thirteen and The Lords of Dogtown. Twilight is the story of a young girl from Phoenix , who moves to Forks in the state of Washington , and falls in love with a vampire. Kristen got the main role from the romance novel worshiped by many, and written by Stephenie Meyer. The moment of truth is coming. She was offered a role in a movie from Sean Penn that was worth some offer for a house and record deal; a girls band, ready to checkin. She declined. She is a good singer, and she likes to write her songs if she can find good inspiration. She hasn't outgrown the Beatles phase. She likes movies by Pantheon Walt Withman, Martine Scorsese, in paticular Taxi Driver. That's only the begining. She admires Michel Gondry, of which shes seen his films, she's ecstatic...
Theresa (first part only):
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
In a few weeks, she begins to work under the direction of Catherine Hardwicke, author of Thirteen and Lords of Dogtown. Twilight will tell the story of a teenage girl originating from Phoenix, who moves to Forks, in the state of Washington, to fall in love with a vampire. Kristen holds the first role of this adaptation of the cult novel of Stephenie Meyer. The moment of truth approaches. Their folk songs in the film of Sean Penn have brought her some CD label propositions: a girl band, ready to sign. She declined. She would like to sing, if she reaches to write, if she finds someone to inspire her. She hasn't surpassed the stadium of the Beatles. Figuring equally to the Pantheon Walt Whitman, Martin Scorsese, and particularly Taxi Driver, it's a start. She admires Michel Gondry, for she has seen all his films, goes into raptures over them, takes them in again. The argument of Eternal Sunshine…makes her head spin: "Why would one want to erase from one's memory the happiness, even with the sadness that followed it?" I ask her if she has already suffered because of love. For good. She answers yes, with a solemn tone. At age 17, she left lack of concern to enter into holy anger, before cynicism and derision come to engrave their quotes on her tomb of adolescent idealism. After a disconcerting hug, ("We do that here"), she leaves all alone through the parking lot, her hands in her pockets of her shirt, and goes away, head lowered, in the last rays of light of the setting sun. So I ask myself who I come to meet with exactly. Is it the evoking light or because I had just reread, but it's Truman Capote who whispers me the answer. A beautiful child.
