I think the title sums this post up really well. Check out this article posted on NPR about guys and Twilight.
And so I challenge — not the men out there; the men are clearly wusses — I challenge the women. Give Twilight to your teenage sons. Give it to your nephews and husbands and other guy types. Tell them it's cool. Tell them they'll like it. Tell them that it'll help them understand women and therefore help them get dates (c'mon, why else do you think I spent so much time with Are You There God? It's Me, Margaret)

Billy Burke Calls Hookup Rumors Ridiculous

Sorry "Robsten" fans! Billy Burke has some harsh words for E! Online when it comes to the rumors of a Rob and Kristen real-life romance.
"As far as I know, I'm gonna say bulls--t," Billy Burke said at Melanie Segal's MTV Movie Awards gift suite. "I'm not buying it. Please!"
He also talked a bit about what Rob is like off camera.
Burke just returned from filming New Moon in Vancouver, where he and Rob sometimes grabbed drinks at local dive bars.
So what's R.Pattz like when the cameras aren't rolling?
"He's a goofball," Billy said about Rob's real personality. "If people knew how much of a goofball he was, they wouldn't be falling all over the place. He doesn't take it all too seriously."

MTV have an interesting article discussing the difference between how the 'Twilight' cast were treated at the 2008 Movie Awards and how they will be treated at this year's awards.
One year ago, Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and a handful of other "Twilight" stars arrived at the MTV Movie Awards and walked down the red carpet, with most of the world's press uninterested in speaking with them. In fact, they had to go back to the beginning of the carpet and start again, just so they could be properly introduced to those who didn't realize they were movie stars...
Hardwicke has a seat on the aisle, stage right. And she's ready to do a lot of jumping up and down and shrieking if "Twilight" continues its rags-to-riches story at the MTV Movie Awards. "I think it's going to be different," she said of the reception she expects for stars like Pattinson on this year's red carpet. "Most people, now, know who Robert is. He's been at the top of the Star Meter on IMdB for a year now — he's really blown up big."
"We were in Italy with him, and Germany, London. People all over the world are just crazy about him," she said of watching Rob's ascension to the top ranks in Hollywood. "So, [the Movie Awards] are going to be a lot of fun."

New Moon Trailer to Debut on MySpace Sunday Night!

Myspace's Trailer Park have announced that the online debut of the New Moon trailer will happen on their site on Sunday at 10:45PM EST/7:45PM PST. This is 1 hour and 45 minutes after the start of the MTV Movie Awards, in which the trailer will be shown for the first time!

Pattz and Stewart are, of course, sittin' next to each other in the front row. Expect them to get plenty of camera time during the whole shebang, which will be telecast live from the Gibson Amphitheatre in Universal City...
Taylor Lautner is a couple of rows behind them...
Off to the side and few rows back are other Twilighters like Kellan Lutz and Cam Gigandet.

I don't know how Chris is going to do it, but according to MTV, the 'New Moon' "clip" that Rob, Kristen, and Taylor will be presenting Sunday on the MTV 2009 Movie Awards, will actually be the movie's first trailer.
Now we can reveal that the never-before-seen video that Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner will be introducing on Sunday's live show is the movie's first trailer.
The stars will present the premiere of the "New Moon" trailer on the Movie Awards, airing at 9:00 pm ET on Sunday. Then at 10:45 p.m., the high-definition video will debut online
They even have a countdown clock.

If there's one thing the entertainment industry has learned in the past year, it's that you should never underestimate the power of the Twilighters. The big-screen adaptation of Stephenie Meyer's beloved novel surprised prognosticators last November by opening to record-breaking numbers, and the mere thought of Robert Pattinson and Cam Gigandet accepting an award onstage seems like enough to get thousands of teenage fingers clicking on that "vote" button. Twilight Saga Vancouver Set Tours is offering just what the name says.
Private, guided tours in Vancouver of the Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse, Breaking Dawn sets -- by fans... for fans!
I'm not sure how they are doing this, but depending on the package you choose, if one of the films is being filmed at the time of the tour, they "guarantee" you will get to meet the cast, take pictures, and get autographs.

It's New Moon Monday again and this topic is sure to get you fired up:
With all this hype about New Moon, how it's Jacob's movie and we won't see much of Edward it begs the question...What Team Are You On? Are you die-hard Team Edward fans still staying strong and true to the dreamy vampire or have you switched over the charming and lovable Team Jacob?
If you were already Team Jacob, you must be happy that this is his time to shine and that Edward is off in the shadows. I must admit, Taylor ripped himself up for this part, almost made me switch myself, but after seeing EW's spread for New Moon, I can't help but fall for Edward all over again =)

The Examiner discusses an interview Rob gave about the craziness he experienced in Cannes, and if he is handling it.
“I was having lunch on the Carlton’s beach when 700 people crowded together at the entrance to the restaurant of the beach. It was funny, in a way… I was carried by three bodyguards to a car parked in front of the restaurant. They were literally carrying me; I wasn’t touching the ground anymore! It was really, really weird!”
“Everything has become more intense for six months, since ‘Twilight’ was released. It’s hard to handle what’s happening to me. I don’t have the necessary hindsight, even if only to find a way out to this situation. But this celebrity thing, you can’t fight it, it’s useless, you can’t avoid it. When it’s not something you desired during your whole life, or something you don’t aspire to, you’re free not to care about it. I didn’t sign for Disney. There’s not a stipulation which forces me to smile to the paparazzi.”

Each one of them was clad in red. Hoods, robes, t-shirt, caps…everything was red! They couldn’t really say anyhing because the producers have told them that if they were caught they would be expelled from the set and nobody wants to lose the chance to be in the movie.
It’s said that this afternoon there was a little commotion and they think Robert Pattinson was there, but nobody would say that plainly. There are no pictures of him at the airport because he went out through a side exit allowed to the airport staff only.
Today the porsche crew finished working and, from what we understood, tomorrow Robert Pattinson himself will shoot some scene, maybe something related to Edward’s desperation before the Volturi’s verdict.
It won’t be Kristen Stewart to jump in the fountain but her stunt double, an Italian girl. Right now, Alan Cappelli, the stunt double for Robert Pattinson is waiting in his car to be called to set. We don’t know though what scene they’ll shoot.

THR: Let's talk about "Twilight." There are four books. Is the plan for you to do them all?
Pattinson: I have committed to the fourth one, "Breaking Dawn." But I don't know quite when Summit is going to shoot it because of my schedule.
THR: How is the script for "New Moon" different from the second book?
Pattinson: It kind of plays relatively close to it. I would still describe it as being a sort of supporting role (to Bella's story). I think it would have been a bit cheesy if it had just stayed as a voiceover part as my character is a voice in her head in the second book. They've shot these hallucination bits of the film. You're playing a figment of Bella's imagination and I was trying to do it in a really 2-D kind of way. I hope it doesn't come out flat and boring (laughs).

'Breaking Dawn' Will Be Made Into Movie!

This was in a previous round-up post, but I didn't want it to get lost in the shuffle. ET Online is reporting that Rob announced in Cannes that Summit will bring 'Breaking Dawn' to the screen. However, there is no announcement on when filming will start. They also have this Tweet:

New Moon Mondays: Best Scene

Okay everyone, in light of the New Moon poster being released tomorrow and all this hype and buzz about the movie I'm sure all you Twilighters out there are just dying for Nov 20th to come as soon as possible. So for this week's New Moon Monday what we all wanna know is...
what scene are you dying to see played out in the movie and why? I know you've all thought about this a million times but can you really just pick one scene? What makes that scene so important that if left out or not developed correctly, would lessen the awesomeness that we all know the book has?

Mark Malkin at E! Online is reporting that FOOTAGE FROM 'NEW MOON' WILL DEBUT at the 2009 MTV Movie Awards on May 31!
Awards show producer Mark Burnett says Patzz, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner will hit the stage together to present the clip...
"Fans can tune-in to the show to see sneak peeks from three of the most highly anticipated movies of the year," Burnett tells me. "These clips have never been seen before and we're very excited that The Twilight Saga: New Moon is one of them."

Hey all just a few things I thought you should know:
Sorry that I've been MIA for so long, school and life just caught up to me and had to handle that but I'm back in full force which means New Moon Mondays will be back tomorrow with an all-new exciting topic for all you Twilighters out there. I've been out of the Twilight loop for quite some time so it's amazing how much has been going on. Hopefully I won't be gone as long in the future =)
Next up, we did receive some great applications for the BAE LJ and I did end up making some decisions but unfortunately people dropped out or never responded so I will be starting the application process again very shortly and hopefully we will get positive responses from people who really want to help BAE expand our network and develop a great community on LiveJournal.
I did receive two great applications and I'm pleased to announce the two active members of the BAE LJ: Thanks to Amy and Cody for helping with the LJ community and welcome to the team!
I will have an application form and deadline posted up soon so if you're interested keep checking back for that!
Finally, I wanted to let you all know that the 2009 MTV Movie Awards has nominated Twilight for 3 awards this year:
So tune in Sunday, May 31 at 9p/10c to see if Twilight can take home the gold!!!

GB: The whole Twilight experience has been truly amazing. I am constantly in awe of the love and support that Twilight fans all over the world continue to give me. The downside is that I have less time now to communicate directly with my fans, but I hope they know that I feel truly blessed to be a part of this thing called Twilight. I’m at the point in my life where I can appreciate all the adoration from fans, but not get swept up in all the hype. I’m still the same Gil Birmingham I was before Twilight.

Movies Online has a brief article about the July release of 'Twilight' trading cards.
Edit: These cards and binder look exactly the same as the set that was released by Inkworks last year, and that has been sold out for ages. The only difference to this package is that it's made by NECA, and the Peter Facinelli autograph.

Rob Pattinson has signed on to a new film called Unbound Captives. The film is based off of a script written by Madeleine Stow, who will also direct the film. Rob, who is one of the sons in the film, will co-star with Rachel Weiss, who will be his mother. In the film, his father is killed by a Comanche war party. He and a sibling are kidnapped, and his mother is saved by a frontiersman, who is portrayed by Hugh Jackman.
Production is expected to begin at the end of the year.

It looks like Kellan isn't the only one that is going to Italy even though he isn't in those scenes. MTV has a brief interview with Nikki in which she confirms that she will be in Italy too.

Several sites are reporting on Casey Ray, a beauty salon owner that made an interesting discovery in a dumpster outside Chase Park Plaza Hotel in St. Louis, USA. She found a 'New Moon' script, as well as a script for 'Memoirs'. Rather than release the scripts to the media, she listened to her conscience, and returned both scripts to Summit Entertainment. As a reward for her honesty, she will reportedly receive tickets to the premieres of both movies.

E! Online answers whether the less than stellar reviews for 'Little Ashes' will hurt Rob's career.
That isn't necessarily bad news for Pattinson fans, however, especially if you're open to a long-term love affair...
Despite the mixed reviews, veteran casting directors are calling Pattinson's choice in films brilliant, especially if he wants a long career...
"All of us would still attempt to cast him in tween roles, but I'd be shocked (and a little disappointed) if he took another one," Hamil reveals. "It's the same reason Daniel Radcliffe did Equus. These guys are in it for the long haul and have learned this elemental truth: You grow up with your audience."

Writing from the set of New Moon, a ridiculously happy place to be. Everyone is having a gas. Especially me. You'd expect at least one person to be snarky after working so hard for so long but I haven't heard a single sour note.
Chris Weitz is the zen ringmaster doing a fantastic job. The Volturi look amaaaazing. Michael Sheen embodies Aro so completely, elevating the role to a whole new level. Dakota as Jane knocks me out. Rob and Kristen are gorgeous of course and and and... I probably shouldn't gush so much, no one will believe that everything is perfect but it is!
Edit: Last week, Melissa also wrote about David Slade.
Finally got to spend some time with our new director for Eclipse, David Slade. And I gotta say, he’s great. Very smart, funny, creative. I already knew he was a really talented and visual filmmaker, but now I know he’s terrific to work with as well. Collaborative and, most important (from a writer’s point of view) smart about story, character and emotional arcs. He gets it. And he’s going to make Eclipse into a fantastic movie. So relax Eclipse fans! We’re in good hands.

Writing from the set of New Moon, a ridiculously happy place to be. Everyone is having a gas. Especially me. You'd expect at least one person to be snarky after working so hard for so long but I haven't heard a single sour note.
Chris Weitz is the zen ringmaster doing a fantastic job. The Volturi look amaaaazing. Michael Sheen embodies Aro so completely, elevating the role to a whole new level. Dakota as Jane knocks me out. Rob and Kristen are gorgeous of course and and and... I probably shouldn't gush so much, no one will believe that everything is perfect but it is!

Finally got to spend some time with our new director for Eclipse, David Slade. And I gotta say, he’s great. Very smart, funny, creative. I already knew he was a really talented and visual filmmaker, but now I know he’s terrific to work with as well. Collaborative and, most important (from a writer’s point of view) smart about story, character and emotional arcs. He gets it. And he’s going to make Eclipse into a fantastic movie. So relax Eclipse fans! We’re in good hands.

Full 'New Moon' Trailer Released in August?

96.7 KISS FM, a radio station in Texas, is reporting that the full length trailer for 'New Moon', or "Twilight 2" as they call it, will be at the beginning of the movie 'Band Slam'. This has NOT been confirmed by Summit, but it seems possible given that 'Band Slam' doesn't get released until August, and is being distributed by Summit.

According to MTV, there has been "internet chatter" saying that Kelly Clarkson's unreleased song, called "Did You?" would be a natural fit for the 'New Moon' soundtrack. RCA, Clarkson's label, said:

Filming Update

Lainey Gossip has a brief update on the filming schedule for 'New Moon'.
The wolves have wrapped shooting. It’s now Volturi time. As I first reported yesterday, Dakota Fanning, Michael Sheen, and Jamie Bower Campbell have arrived in Vancouver. Dakota did not work today but Michael and Jamie had very early call times. The scenes:
The Volturi judging and sentencing a vampire who broke the rules – as seen in a painting.
Also…
Edward presenting himself to the Volturi and requesting their decision. The three vampire leaders say nope, they don’t want to destroy him.

The Twilight DVD has broken sales records in Australia.
It means Twilight is the best selling Sony Pictures Home Entertainment DVD title in the first week of release in the past five years, beating out Australia, The Dark Knight and the past two Harry Potter films.

Twilight Examiner has a report about a "small group of 'Twilight' fans" that think Ryan Reynolds would be the perfect actor to portray the character of Garrett in 'Breaking Dawn'.
Jolly, olive-skinned, and observant, Garrett's character is [*spoiler*] a sort of speech-giving savior to the Cullens in Breaking Dawn with the Renesmee situation. Standing up to the Volturi, this somewhat messy wanderer has to use his words to save the day.

'I Love You Man' co-star Tom Lennon, and his kiss with Paul Rudd, is up against Kristen and Rob's kiss in 'Twilight' for the Best Kiss at the MTV Movie Awards. MTV have an article and video on Paramore's campaign to get 'Twilight' to win Best Kiss at the MTV Movie Awards. Their song 'Decode' from the soundtrack is up for Best Song From a Movie.

Lainey Gossip has even more photos of the scenes with Kristen on a "stranger's" motorcycle being filmed. She has a few of Rob waiting as the "hallucination" scene is set up. There are also a couple of the two of them the night they went to see Sam Bradley's concert.

Rob Pattinson has won the #1 spot on Yahoo!'s Hunk-O-Rama Roundup, which features the hunks for the upcoming summer (and fall) films.
As the movie's moody and glistening vampire, Pattinson hasn't budged from the top 100 searches on Yahoo! since "Twilight" migrated from book shelves to big screen. Even his fanged alter ego Edward Cullen's searches would have merited a No. 7 placement. We don't argue with bloodsuckers.
Taylor Lautner came in at #6 (haha, not #7 - he's on photo #7 - thanks, Trine!).
Our second "Twilight" hunk, this karate-trained actor shows his lupine charms as the Native American Jacob Black. He's buffing up for the "New Moon" sequel by attending wolf camp. Yes, yes, all the girls will howl.
Zac Efron came in at #2, Brad Pitt is #3, and Rob's fellow Harry Potter actor, Dan Radcliffe, came in at #10.

The nominations for the 2009 MTV Movie Awards are in, and 'Twilight' is in the lead with seven nominations, followed closely by 'Slumdog Millionaire' with six. Now that the nominations are in, it is time to VOTE for the winner ('Twilight')! The show airs Sunday, May 31.
'Eclipse' Controversy Already

David Slade was just named as the director of 'Eclipse' and already there is some controversy. /Film has an audio clip of David on the BDK movie show on WJFK in Washington DC. In the clip, David appears to take a swipe at 'Twilight'.
…and so yesterday we were trying to find a movie to see and we’d seen all the good ones, you know, and there was nothing really coming out this weekend that we really fancied at all and having directed a vampire film and really gone for something completely different to the kind of romantic, you know, repressed hormone teen vampire movie we really weren’t interested in seeing Twilight but a lot of people said lets go so I wrote -

Have had little time for twitter over this weekend. Playing with friends and enjoying my final days in London before Canada tomorrow. x
And then, from about 4 hours ago.
Due to me being entirely unprepared i have left packing to the last minuet. Great! Going to have breakfast and then get back on it. x
There is also this tweet from Michael Sheen (Aro):
packing for Vancouver! toothbrush, shampoo, fangs...
Jamie originally said he would be over in June, but from everything that has been said, it sounded like the Italy shoot, at the end of May, was the last filming that is going to be done. These little tweets seems to confirm that theory. So, are you ready fans? Here come the Volturi!!!

The first video is just a quick one of Taylor waving to the fans, and the second is of Kristen and Anna filming the scene of them walking out of the theater. Plus, I also found a couple of pictures on Twilight-Gossip of Rob and Kristen filming what I assume is the "hallucination".

On The Set Video Of "Mystery" Scene

Vancity Allie has done it again! Amazing behind the scenes, on the set stuff! She was there to catch pictures and video of a scene done quite a bit different than in the book. After leaving the theater with Jessica, Bella actually gets on the motorcycle of one of the guys they see at the bar. Apparently, Rob was there earlier and filmed his "Edward hallucination" portion. Allie goes into a bit of detail as to how that was done. She also describes everything she saw while there. LOL Here is the video she shot. At the end, you can hear Kristen saying the lines "Stop! Stop!"

That's right folks. Justin Guarini from American Idol season one and the critically un-acclaimed From Justin to Kelly really wants to contribute to the New Moon soundtrack. Exclusive TwiCon Event With Jackson Rathbone!

For the first time at any conference anywhere, Jackson Rathbone will be offering an intimate and personal chat session at TwiCon 2009! On Sunday, August 2nd from 10am-12pm, Jackson will join 500 fans for coffee, questions and answers, and possibly even an acoustic song or two. It's all about getting to know Jackson better, so he'll be taking questions directly from fans, as well as giving 25 lucky attendees some face time by personalizing memorabilia (to be provided by the attendee) on stage in front of the audience! Here's how the event will work:
Fans will be seated banquet-style after grabbing a cup of coffee (provided). During this time, screened questions will be gathered from the audience by TwiCon staff. Each table with an approved question will receive a numbered card, which indicates the order of the questions to be asked. The attendee designated by that table will stand and ask their approved question when it is their turn. Jackson will be casually seated on stage and has graciously welcomed the opportunity to give the fans a closer peek into his life, so we ask in advance that the screaming be kept to a minimum during the Q&A as a respectful gesture to Jackson. We will allow attendees 2-3 minutes for flash photography upon his entrance, but photography without flash will be allowed at any time. All attendees must be seated unless standing for a question or if they are chosen as a winner for face time with Jackson (there will be no information given on how to win until the event begins!). Fans may ask questions of a somewhat personal nature, but remember that these questions will be screened and any inappropriate questions (boxers or briefs is not appropriate!) asked that were not approved will constitute immediate ejection from the event. So be sure the question we screen is the question you ask! After the Q&A, Jackson may or may not perform a song or two alone on stage. When winners are selected to greet Jackson on stage, they will be asked to bring the item they would like signed on stage with them, give a brief introduction and Jackson will then sign and personalize the memorabilia for them. The winner will then leave the stage and the next winner will go up.

Tickets will be available for purchase through your TwiCon registration account on Friday, May 15th at 11:59pm EST. Each registrant is limited to one ticket. As with all of our events, you must be fully registered and paid in full to be eligible for this event, and tickets are non-refundable and non-transferrable. Jennifer Stone, who co-stars with Selena Gomez in "Wizards of Waverly Place" says that Taylor and Selena are "just friends".
"Just because they're hanging out together doesn't mean they're dating, you know," Jennifer explained to E! News while attending the Catch Boutique and Operation Smile and Hope event in L.A. on Thursday night, April 30.
"She's friends with guys!" Jennifer revealed further about her "Wizards of Waverly Place" co-star Selena. "A lot of girls have guy friends." Speaking about Taylor, Jennifer told E! News, "I'm a big 'Twilight' fan though. I'm a big Robert Pattinson fan, which I know if I met Taylor, he would not be a fan of me not saying he's my favorite, but I really do love Rob."
