Remember BAE's Hot Topic merchandise contest where we had you guys guess an answer based on Hot Topic's clues? Well the three winners have been picked! Just in case anyone was wondering, here's how I chose the winners:
Since even I didn't know the correct answer at the start of the contest, it was only fair that everyone who entered had an equal chance! The first winner was drawn based on answer accuracy. Many of you guessed Jacob Black, and that was the correct answer! I took all of the "Jacob" answers and randomly picked one out of the pile. The second answer was based on creativity. I chose the one answer I thought was the most creative as another winner. The third and last winner was picked randomly out of the answers left. And here are the winners!

According to Home Media Magazine, the 'Twilight' disc is number one so far.
With sales hitting 5.6 million units at the end of this weekend, Summit Home Entertainment’s Twilight is now the top-selling home entertainment release of the year, according to Home Media research.

'New Moon' Fans Rush From Location to Location

The Vancouver Sun has an article about how hard several Twilighters/Twi-hards are working in order to get a glimpse of the cast and filming. Aside from Tofino, Kristen and Taylor have also been seen on location near Pitt Meadows and Port Coquitlam. Unfortunately, it seems the film crew are much more prepared this film, and the fans have had a difficult time getting that glimpse. You can read more here.
Boxwish: Deluxe Soundtrack in the UK

Boxwish have an article about the Twilight Deluxe Edition soundtrack, which mentions that it will be released here in the UK next Monday, April 6th.
The album has already been released in the US and has shifted 74,000 copies according to Nielsen SoundScan, helping it to the number three spot on the Billboard 200 just behind Kelly Clarkson and U2. It’s not yet available here in the UK, being released on 6th April to coincide with the DVD release on that same day.
It's available for pre-order from all the usual places (HMV seems to have the best price... £8.99!).

MoviesOnline have a new interview with Kristen Stewart. She mostly talks about Adventureland, but does briefly mention New Moon.

Kristen Stewart: Just picking up sort of where we left off. The story, there's like a six month period where the first one ended and the second one picks up, but nothing has changed. They're at a good, solid point in their relationship. I'm interested to see him leave because that's what the first one is entirely based on, that abandoned devotion ultimate love story. Now she's going to be stripped of that and Bella is actually an interesting character on her own. Taylor Lautner is Jacob. It was under deliberation for a while so we're glad that he's doing it.

The Extras Casting department is accepting mail in registration from adults interested in a chance to work as an extra in Omaha. Men & Women of all ethnicities (adults - age 18 and over) should apply. We are not asking for children or teens (age 17 and younger) at this time. All ethnicities are encouraged to apply. NO EXPERIENCE IS NECESSARY.

Now I know we all have a copy of the Twilight DVD, but there were like 10 different special editions. So which one did you end up getting? After reading all the books did you search online relentlessly trying to find Bella's bracelet like I did? Got my very own "Bella's bracelet" btw, haha. Did you buy the endless amounts of t-shirts, hoodies, pins, keychains, stickers, etc. that various stores all over have put out? The BBC are reporting that Jamie Campbell Bower will be Caius in New Moon.
He told the BBC, "You're the first people I've told. Shooting has already started, and I'm going over in June."
He is best known as Anthony in Sweeney Todd, the boy in love with Joanna.
He went on to say, "I do know who else will be in it - but I can't tell you, unfortunately.
"But go online and have a look at the rumours," he said, then added: "They're all false. You're putting me in a terrible situation."
When asked about the attention Rob Pattinson gets, he said, "I doubt I'll get the same sort of adulation as Robert - but it's always nice when people recognise you for your work."
Those in America will get a chance to see him on TV later this year with the series The Prisoner, which also stars Sir Ian McKellan and Jim Caviezel.

Tonight the Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards took place and Twilight won for best book! Taylor Lautner was there to accept the award. Hugh Jackman and Sandra Bullock presented the award (and were promptly slimed) and tried to share their slime with Taylor, but no such luck! He was too smart for them!

Celebuzz has an "exclusive" interview with casting director Rene Haynes, who handled the Native American casting for 'New Moon'. She discusses why she chose some of the actors she did for the "pack", and she also discusses what she told them now that they will be "stars":

You may have seen on several sites, that there have been reports about Rob's "lack of hygiene." Supposedly, 'New Moon' crew members, un-named of course, said that Rob doesn't shower, and that the smell they have to deal with is awful, etc., etc., etc. Up until now, I have refused to give these rumors credence by posting them on the site. However, I have found one I am willing to post. Amanda Bell has an article on Examiner.com in which she disputes this claim. Why does this rumor persist? Amanda's thoughts:

With the constant media frenzy surrounding him, the grace and dignity with which he addresses both the media (paparazzi aside) and his fans, the constant and ground-breaking success of his current works, and the beautiful photographs that continue to make headway across the globe of his clearly washed hair, that there would be more positive news surfacing from such sources. But alas, this is America, and we do love a scandal (for instance, see my response to attacks on Kristen Stewart). Too bad."

"The book of 'New Moon,' the majority of it is incredibly depressing," Pattinson told Reuters. "Obviously 'Twilight' was about finding first love and the difficulties of that, but 'New Moon' is really about loss and reconciliation, but the reconciliation isn't completely full."
"It's a strange story to have for a market that, I guess, wants to see a love story," he said.

Reports had hit the internet yesterday that Robert Pattinson had been struck in the head by a big piece of metal while filming New Moon. It has now been confirmed that this story is not true.
"This story is completely false" Pattinson's rep confirms, "Robert has not been injured in any way and no version of the story ever occurred."

The National Ledger is reporting that Rob was injured on the set of 'New Moon'. According to their report, wind blew a metal sign loose, and it hit Rob in the head, temporarily knocking him unconscious. They are also saying that filming, for Rob anyway, was postponed until the next day, when he returned to the set with a lump on his head, but was otherwise fine. Peter Facinelli At The Ft. Lewis Post Exchange

Salute To Your Service, an Army & Air Force Exchange Service (AAFES) blog has an article on Peter's visit to Ft. Lewis this past weekend for the DVD release. He visited with some troops, he participated in a Q&A session after a screening of 'Twilight', and get this, he "signed 16.5 hours NON STOP in ONE DAY!" I just want to inform you guys that I've seen the Twi DVD in Astrovision in SM Mall of Asia. It costs Php750 for the 2 discs DVD special edition, and the other one is Php275 for the VCD. They also have a standee at the entrance of the store where you can take picture and a poster given to those who have early reservation. The poster is also displayed at the center of the store. Some of my friends said that they received other kind of poster. It was released by Viva Videos, Philippines.
And here's the poster that was free if you reserved early:

In the film, the wolf pack defends humans against vampires although they have a tribal history intricately entwined with Edward Cullen and his family. We have a new feature here at BAE which I hope you'll like. We will keep bringing you new changes and advances to our site and we hope you like it all. I'd like to introduce something that will get our Twi-minds working during this grueling period before New Moon comes out. Hopefully we can generate great discussions between BAE'ers, although comments will be monitored so please be mindful of others. I welcome all feedback and if you all like these topics I will continue every week so be on the lookout for more great topics to discuss! Okay, so this week's topic is a simple one but definitely one I've been thinking about ever since Twilight came out and I'm sure many of you have been thinking about too:

MTV News has an article and an interview with Nikki Reed about the film 'K-11'. Not only will Nikki and Kristen be in the movie, and not only is it the filmmaking debut of Kristen's mother, but both women will be playing....men, or specifically transgender women. Summit Entertainment has announced that the 'Twilight' DVD sold 3 million copies the first day alone. The sales numbers have "put it in the top 5 DVD release days of the past two years, including Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, The Dark Knight, Transformers, and Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End." Alright, I'm back again with some tweaks to the new layout. Upon request, the news article titles have been enlarged and moved to the left-hand side, I hope everyone finds this a little better! Also, if you're having trouble viewing the layout, for example, if everything is jumbled up on your screen, try taking a look at this article that tells you how to clear your cache. But first, try refreshing your page once or twice. If both of those methods don't work then post below and let me know what's wrong and what browser you're using.
Thank you to everyone who commented and left suggestions on how to improve the layout! And for those of you who like the old layout better, can you just give this one some time to sink in first? Maybe you'll get used to it in a couple of days!

Also, the links for the gallery, forum, facebook, shop, etc. are now on the left hand sidebar instead of the top. The site navigation is located at the top, the books on the bookcase will take you wherever you want to go on the site!

Unofficial Twilight Guide in the UK

The unnoficial Twilight Companion by Lois Gresh is now out in the UK. It has been released over here with a different cover, which I personally think is nicer than the original US one. "I've loved all the different directors that did the 'Harry Potter' [films], because each one had their own cool style and energy, so I think that's good. And I'm moving on to other projects."

New Moon Movie.org have an interesting new article about the possibility of Breaking Dawn being banned in a school library.
But a parent’s complaint over sexual content in the Mormon author’s fourth novel, Breaking Dawn, coincided with the book’s temporary absence from the library at Brockbank Junior High.

Tiffy was at her local Hot Topic store today, and noticed that they are now selling Twilight baseball uniforms. They're not on the site yet, only stores.

FYE, or Coconuts as it's known by my house on the highway (they never changed their name) has Twilight Umbrellas. I saw them in person (size anyway not design) and they are large, not compact, one you'd keep in the car as a "just incase" umbrella. I got a flyer in the mail today and they have a picture of the umbrella, and it looks like Edward and Bella kneeling down in the woods or possibly the meadow. Also if you buy the Twilight DVD AND another DVD at regular price, you recieve a free Twilight bag. It has the Cullen Crest on it, and says Twilight.

when I was visiting Borders in New York City ( Next to Madison Square Garden ) I found two items I didn't recognize: Cullen Key Caps And A Floor Mural.
The Floor Mural is broken up into 18 pieces that you put together. The only one they had was the Edward one, and it says on the bottom "What If I Am Not The Hero? What If I'm The Bad Guy?." It also said on the bottom "Style B" ( you can see it if you zoom into the picture. It's by the "NECA" in the bottom left corner. which I am assuming means there is more than one design. The Cullen Key Caps came in a three-pack. I actually bought these and have they Twilight written on the back.

According to my godmothers friend whose daughter works at Coconuts (again, FYE without the name change) you don't have to pre-order the DVD to go to the midnight release tonight. It's from 10pm-12am and if you dress up at a vampire you can get into the raffles they have. Don't know how true this is, but it's just a heads up for people going tonight, you /might/ have to dress up as a vamp to get into the raffles. Check your local stores for confirmation.

Film.com has an extensive review of the DVD that will make you race for your copy that much faster.
This DVD release has been suffused with love and such care and attention to detail that even the most critical fan would be hard pressed to find much to complain about. One nice thing which, given the immensity of work poured into this release feels greedy to even ask for, might have been an audio commentary track with the author, Stephenie Meyer, and the screenwriter, Melissa Rosenberg, discussing the transition of book to screen over the course of the entire film.
...this DVD is packed with bonus features, including extended and deleted scenes, and one surprising treat: the long documentary on the special second disc, which goes deep into nearly every step of the Twilight filmmaking process.
The audio commentary is beyond hilarious, as director Catherine Hardwicke, Robert Pattinson, and Kristen Stewart tease each other, discuss filming problems and improvised moments with the sort of insider glee that’s truly delightful. Surprisingly, Pattinson himself leads the mockery, and his comments show a remarkable amount of self-awareness, as well as some bitingly witty observations and offerings of alternatively sly dialogue, which ranges from minor brilliance to laughing-out-loud hilarity.
Stephanie Meyer may have written Edward and Bella, but she’s given them up to every reader and the makers of this film, who so carefully preserved them as best they could.

I know we love our 'Twilight' and we all have a lot of fun talking about the books, and movies, and wondering what the new movies will be like, or when we will see a new picture of our favorite cast member. However, for this post, I am going very serious. I'mNotObsessed has posted a documentary that Kristen Stewart took part in. The documentary discusses date rape and what women, and men, can do to help prevent such a horrific thing from happening. Because a large number of 'Twilight' fans fall into the 14-24 year old age range discussed in the statistics in the article, I have decided to post the documentary, which is divided into three videos. The information is valuable, but be WARNED, that while there is no nudity, or sexual content, there are sexual situations shown and discussed. Director Catherine Hardwicke spilled the beans on the commentary track for the upcoming Twilight DVD after R-Patz remarked he looks "like an anime character" in the final scene of the film.
Hardwicke replied to Pattinson, saying, "Hey, I think there's going to be an anime version of this in Japan. So you will be an anime character."

Twilight Still in Theatres Even With DVD Release Date

It's not often that you see a movie stay in theatres all the way up to the DVD's release date, but that seems to be happening with Twilight. We previously reported that Twilight is returning to select theatres in Quebec. And now Lettie let us know that it's still playing in theatres in her Kentucky town - albeit in the cheap theatre. What about your area?

One of my dear friends and mentors, Faith Hochhalter—a truly gifted book buyer who put together some of my most successful events—was recently diagnosed with breast cancer. I am not the only author who was helped along by her talent and enthusiasm, and all of us who have enjoyed her influence in our lives and careers are eager to help her through this rough time. To assist with her medical bills, several young adult writers are joining together for a fund-raising event: Project Save the Book Babe. The event will be on April 4th in Tempe, AZ; it will include live music, a panel discussion with the attending authors, and an auction of some fun and/or rare items from each author.

Bauer-Griffin have several pictures of various members of the 'New Moon' cast leaving Vancouver. From what I've heard, Robert isn't needed on the set for a few weeks at least, and I assume that means the same for the rest of the Cullens. Apparently yesterday Rob Pattinson attended one of Walmart's employee Saturday Morning Meetings in Arkansas (within driving distance of my house! Well, about 8 hours, but still!!). UK & Ireland Borders Stores DVD Pre-Orders

UK Borders stores are now taking pre-orders for the Twilight movie DVD. From the posters, it looks like it's the one disc edition (unless they've used the wrong sleeve image). It retails for £13.99, and the pre-order deposit is £2. In Ireland, its retail price is €19.99, and the deposit is €3.
Also, we've been told that all stores will be holding a release party on Monday 6th April. It might be a good idea to call your local store and check; unless your local store is Stockport, in which case, I can tell you now: we're having a release party.

The LA Times has released an article where Summit Entertainment states that they did not hire Juan Antonio Bayona, director of "Orphanage", to direct the upcoming Eclipse Movie.
The President of Summit Productions, Eric Feig, had this to say:
"The 'Eclipse' directing job hasn’t been offered to Juan Antonio or anyone else," he told me. "We’ve met with three or four talented filmmakers and we’ll be meeting with three or four more other candidates before we make any decision. No one has been offered the job."

The game is a challenge to all Twilight fans who absolutely love the movie. Especially, for those who have seen the movie more than once.
Here is how it works:
-15 movie stills have been scrambled.
-Look carefully at each still to identify the scene, then put the 15 scenes in sequential order to when they appear in the film.
-Once you have your numbers in the correct order, email them to twilightscramble@gmail.com
-Each correct entry will be entered into a drawing for a $25 gift card to one of the following: Best Buy, Amazon.com, Hot Topic, Wal-mart or Target. (The winner chooses)
-The winner will be selected at random on March 16th, which gives the winner a chance to buy their choice of the DVD in time for its release.

MTV has a new interview and article with Nikki Reed. The discussion focuses on the look of the Cullens. There will be some differences in the look of the Cullens, which Nikki says will be for the better. For one, she will be wearing a wig this time, and from recent pictures I have seen of Jackson, so will he, his head is shaved for a recent movie. You can read more here.

Hitfix is reporting that Juan Antonio Bayona, a protege of Guillermo Del Toro, is one of the candidates to direct the 'Eclipse' movie. The other names reported as possible candidates, are Paul Weitz, Drew Barrymore, and James Mangold. Read more here.

FEAR: Before we get started, I have a question for Kellan from the fans online. They're wondering if he enjoyed meeting all the UK fans at the Eternal Twilight convention last weekend.
LUTZ: Oh, yeah. It was in North Hampton, an hour north of London and the population was about 200,000, so it was smaller venue. There was a big turn-out, 800+ people, and we did photo shoots and signings for hours. The Q&A's were great because it was Peter, myself, Ashley, Justin and Christian, all on stage just having random questions. It was very well organized and a smooth machine. The fans were just great. They had a prom there that night and Peter auctioned off two dances because he wasn't feeling so well, so he wanted to do that for them. It was such a huge hit that a couple hundred more people purchased tickets for pictures with him. Fans came from LA and we asked them when we had smaller Q&As why they came from LA and they said, "Well, what a great time to see London. I get to do a convention with you guys and then go see Big Ben." It was a great experience.

"I'm one of the directors that is being talked about, which is great, because I'm a director now," Barrymore said. "But, you know, they'll make their choice."

The Team Switzerland Project
2008 was all about declaring yourself – Team Edward or Team Jacob – and rocking the vote. Novel Novice Twilight used the 2008 U.S. Nat’l elections as inspiration for our highly successful Team Edward vs. Team Jacob Campaign.
Looking ahead at 2009, we turn to our original inspiration – using Twilight as a way to get people (young people, especially) educated about and involved in politics. And this year in real-life politics there is a renewed effort for bipartisanship. Here at NNT, we want the same thing for Team Edward and Team Jacob. That’s why we’re excited to launch the Team Switzerland Project.
All this year, we are inviting fans to submit their videos, artwork, poetry and other creative works to show how Team Edward and Team Jacob can get along.
Every Friday this year is Team Switzerland Day – and throughout the year, we’ll share everything we receive – as well as revealing exciting, new parts of the Team Switzerland Project.
And to kick things off, we have an awesome Team Switzerland Project Contest, sponsored by Blue Foundation – the band behind the song “Eyes on Fire” from the Twilight Soundtrack.

Solomon Trimble, who portrayed Sam in Twilight, has updated his MySpace to state that he will not reprise his role in New Moon.
My agent heard from Summit Entertainment today that I will not be reprising the role of Sam in "New Moon." While I will cherish the experience of being involved in the first film, I am looking forward to many new opportunities in the future and would like to thank everyone for their support.

They'll be playing the movie, so they mention to bring something comfortable to sit on. Also, when I pre-ordered my friend's copy last month, they mentioned the Blu-Ray disc will probably come out the same day as well.

Eternal Twilight Convention Pics: Part 1

I've added some pics to the gallery from the UK's Eternal Twilight convention. These were mostly taken by me, so they're quite rubbish. Our honorary BAE photographer for the weekend was my friend Kate, who used her brilliant camera to get some great pics of the guests. She's going to upload them ASAP, then they'll be posted here. Keep checking back over the next week or so, as I'll be adding lots of pics from various people.
I'll write a proper report up as soon as I have time, but for now I'll just say that it was amazing, one of my Q's for Ashley got asked in her guest talk (yey!), the actors were all lovely and I would quite like to marry Peter Facinelli. Seriously, the film does not do him justice.
