The first part "Twilight - Bis(s) zum Morgengrauen" is the topical front runner in the German cinemas and the start of the continuation is also an agreed thing: From 7.1.2010 "Twilight 2 - Bis(s) zur Mittagsstunde" shall be seen in the German Cinemas. Both principal characters Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson are also involved in the continuation. Director will be Chris Weitz, who also directed "The Golden Compass."

Weitz on Taylor: He captures the spirit of Jacob

Posted by Shelly on 28 Jan 2009 || 13 Comments

USA Today have an article on different werewolf movies coming out this year, including New Moon. They spoke with director Chris Weitz who had a bit to say about Taylor Lautner (Jacob).

"Taylor is a formidable guy, kind of a great tool in the toolbox," Weitz says of the nearly 17-year-old actor who has been working out daily and has packed on 29 pounds, most of it muscle. "In the first movie, we did not see or recognize how dangerous a character he could be."

As for Taylor himself, "he can kill me with his left pinky. But he is too nice to do that. There is something compelling and sexy about him. He captures the spirit of Jacob."

The Girl Who Could Fly by Victoria Forester.

"It's the oddest/sweetest mix of Little House on the Prairie and X-Men. I was smiling the whole time (except for the part where I cried). I gave it to my mom, and I'm reading it to my kids—it's absolutely multi-generational. Prepare to have your heart warmed."

The Host: The Twilight author - who sold a whopping 22 million books in 2008 - continues to experience unfaltering success in bookstores: In fact, one in every five books sold since Thanksgiving has been a Meyer book. And that includes The Host - the author's first adult novel, now at 1,475,000 copies - which squeezes back into the top five this week.

The Edward Cullen Doll

Posted by Vi on 27 Jan 2009 || 14 Comments

An employee at MTV News was able to get her hands on the actual Edward Cullen doll, as well as Bella Swan. She compares it to the ones Hot Topic is selling, which appears to be not so great.

Here are her Top 5 Reasons to Love this doll:

1.) He looks so stylish wearing Edward’s trademark grey wool coat, dark denim jeans, and t-shirt.

2.) He came with shoes and socks, because we all know vampires and dolls need socks. But would Edward really need socks since he’s “cold” all the time doesn’t really sweat? Point to ponder.

3.) He would never go on a date with Barbie.

4.) He’d totally kick Ken’s ass in a fight.

5.) He resembles Robert Pattinson, and anything that resembles Robert Pattinson is going to be awesome.

FYE DVD & Soundtrack News

Posted by Jenny on 25 Jan 2009 || 3 Comments

Thanks to Stephanie for sending us all this info:

I actually work at an FYE and I've come across some interesting bits of information for you guys! FYE.com, as well as all FYE locations, are taking reservations for the movie (link here). All the stores in my district have been given the option to do a midnight opening on release night but that's going to be done on a store by store basis in which case, it would be best to contact any local locations closer to the release date to see if that's going to be occurring. Also, often times there are give aways in our stores such as posters, trading cards film cells eta... but at the moment, I haven't heard anything either way, but I'll be sure to let you guys know if/when I hear anything!

Also, I was reading over a list of new CD releases for the year and it looks like the soundtrack is going to be re-released as a CD/DVD on March 24th! Some stores also have in stock, life size cut outs of the cast members.

Workers also have Twilight name tags.

Alex with Reuters' Entertainment blog had a chance to speak with Kristen Stewart while she was at the Sundance film festival about her latest project Adventureland, how she grew up on sets because her parents are in the entertainment industry, and about her college plans.

"I grew up on a set," she told Reuters at Sundance. "I don't take it as seriously, and then at the same time I take it more seriously than anyone. It's like a balance."

On college, she says, "Not now, maybe if I can grow up a little bit," she said. "But not yet, I can't. It's just I've had a lot of demands put on me for quite a long time."

A host from Access Hollywood posted a fun little blog about his trip back from the Sundance Film Festival. You'll have to read it to see the "fun" part, lol. Click here to read the blog post. Thanks to Rachel from Access Hollywood for the link!

You see, a funny thing happened yesterday on the flight back from the Sundance Film Festival to Los Angeles.

There was a guy sitting in front of me in seat 5b who I thought looked familiar from behind. But who can make a definitive ID looking at the back of someone’s melon, right? So, I thought I’d wait to see if he would get out of his seat and then I could take a peek and see if it was him.

So, as I was reading this great book, “The Tibetan Book of Serenity,” the man in front of me stood up and made his way to the restroom. I thought, “Yep, looks like John.”

Here is a little something from Cynopsis about the Twilight movie. Summit Entertainment is planning to air a ton of its movies on cable channels. Thanks to Robyn for sending us this info!

~ DISTRIBUTION, CLEARANCE & CARRIAGE ~
Have you seen the movie Twilight? Or read the book? Okay, let me just interject here for a moment - IMHO: the book you absolutely must ... probably the most compelling read I've seen in a really long time, no matter your age. As to the movie, Showtime Networks Inc. and Summit Entertainment enter into an exclusive output deal, under which the pay cable channel will air up to 42 of Summit's theatrical movie released between 2008-2012, including Twilight and other films produced from this book series franchise. Other upcoming film titles include Knowing starring Nicolas Cage and Rose Byrne and Push with Chris Evans, Dakota Fanning, Djimon Hounsou and Camilla Belle among other titles. The terms of the deal were not released. Alex Fragen, Summit's President/Domestic Television Distribution handled negotiations for the studio.

Weitz & Producers Revisit Kalama

Posted by Jenny on 22 Jan 2009 || 0 Comments

The Twilight producers, along with Chris Weitz, have revisited Kalama High School, and could possibly shoot part of the New Moon movie there.

The visit was short, and moviemakers didn’t commit to filming at the school again, Sutton said. It’s possible they shot enough footage during the filming of “Twilight” last spring to supply the sequel, he noted.

If additional footage is requested, “they would need to start shooting at the end of March or early April,” Sutton said.

Report: Dakota Fanning in Talks for Jane Role

Posted by Shelly on 22 Jan 2009 || 67 Comments

E! are reporting that Dakota Fanning is in talks for the role of Jane in New Moon.

I can exclusively report that the 14-year-old child star—she turns 15 on Feb. 23—is in talks to play Jane opposite Robert Pattinson & Co. in New Moon, the upcoming sequel to box office megahit Twilight.

“There were no auditions,” a source reveals. “They just offered it to her outright, and now they’re in negotiations. They’ve been going back and forth.”

Of course, for now, this is just a rumor. Although, I must admit, that she was my personal first choice for the role. wink

Posted by Jenny on 19 Jan 2009 || 3 Comments

The Peninsula Daily News has a pretty funny story about a fan stealing the gas cap from their souvenir of Bella's truck, which is parked outside the Forks Visitor Centre.

Forks Chamber of Commerce officials think it was an overly-zealous fan who pinched the chrome gas cap off Bella's pickup a few weeks ago, said Mike Gurling, Forks Visitor Center office manager.

The chamber heard rumors that the gas cap had been placed on the Internet auction site eBay, but it is no longer listed there, if it ever had been.

Robert Pattinson One of MTV's Male 2009 MVPs

Posted by Shelly on 15 Jan 2009 || 0 Comments

MTV have posted their list of Male 2009 MVPs, which is a list of males they expect big things from for this year. On the top of the list is non other than Robert Pattinson.

After making millions of girls want to have a vampire love affair in "Twilight," English heartthrob Robert Pattinson will reprise his role as Edward Cullen in this year's "New Moon." But he also hopes to wow audiences as the young surrealist painter Salvador Dalí in the film "Little Ashes," which chronicles the early life of the brilliant artist and explores his romantic relationship with poet Federico García Lorca, played by Javier Beltran.

It's a Sweep for Stephenie

Posted by Shelly on 15 Jan 2009 || 9 Comments

USA Today have an article both online and on their printed edition on how Stephenie Meyer has accomplished taking the top four spots on the best seller list - something that no other author (including JK Rowling) has never done.

Stephenie Meyer sold more books in 2008 than any other author (22 million, according to her publisher) and did what no else — not even J.K. Rowling — has done in the 15 years of USA TODAY's Best-Selling Books list:

She swept the four top slots in 2008's best sellers with her Twilight series about a romance between a girl (mortal) and boy (vampire).

Melissa Rosenberg Didn't Write Anything on Leah for NM

Posted by Shelly on 15 Jan 2009 || 5 Comments

As many of you are aware, many rumors had been going around that Vanessa Hudges would be auditioning for the role of Leah in New Moon. Those rumors have been laid to rest, however, Twilight Lexicon did a bit more investigating, seeing how the part of Leah is pretty small in the second book of the Twilight saga (she's only seen while speaking on the phone).

They rang screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg to see what she had to say. And here's what she had to say:

if Vanessa is auditioning for the role of Leah, she’s written her own pages to read, ’cause I didn’t write ‘em.

So, it's looking less likely that Leah will be in New Moon, but she should be, of course, in Eclipse.

Twilight Vs. Roswell

Posted by Jenny on 12 Jan 2009 || 5 Comments

TV Squad.com has a new article titled 'Twilight Vs. Roswell: Are aliens more romantic than vampires?'. Click here to read it, and remember that it's just someone's personal opinion (I love Roswell too... but I don't agree that it's more romantic laughing). Thanks to Rachel for the link.

Other similarities:

Twilight and Roswell both feature supporting characters with supernatural gifts who feel threatened by the main characters' relationships. In Twilight, these characters come off as one-note, but Roswell's supporting characters were, of course, allowed to develop over three seasons. Also, both franchises portray Native Americans as somewhat mystical people. In Roswell, they have a spiritual link to the aliens. In Twilight, they're territorial onlookers who might be werewolves.

He's always, he was signed on, just like we all were, for all of them, or for the movies that we're supposed to be in. So he's playing it, obviously."

Twilight Leads Children's Book Sales in December

Publishers Weekly has an article about children's book sales for December, and how Twilight led the way.

Stephenie Meyer’s vampire books had the added distinction of being the hardest to keep in stock. At BookPeople in Austin, Tex., where getting enough copies of New Moon caused the biggest headache, “Meyer sales alone were actually 5% of our kids’ sales, which is staggering,” noted children’s book buyer Meghan Dietsche Goel.

On the fan Web site BellaAndEdward.com, one fan wrote, “I’ve been saying this whole time that it’s not about who is physically best for the role, it’s about who is emotionally best for the role".

It's Official: Taylor is Jacob!

Posted by Jenny on 07 Jan 2009 || 71 Comments

Stephenie has posted news on her official site that Taylor Lautner will be reprising his role as Jacob Black in New Moon.

I'm very happy to announce that Taylor Lautner will be playing Jacob Black in New Moon and that he's doing so with the enthusiastic support of Summit Entertainment, the producers, and Stephenie Meyer.

The characters in Stephenie's books go through extraordinary changes of circumstance and also appearance; so it is not surprising that there has been speculation about whether the same actor would portray a character who changes in so many surprising ways throughout the series. But it was my first instinct that Taylor was, is, and should be Jacob, and that the books would be best served by the actor who is emotionally right for the part. I think that fans of Twilight the book and the movie will be surprised by the Jacob Black that Taylor will bring to the screen in New Moon; and I'm looking forward to working with him and the rest of the cast in realizing the film.

very best

Chris Weitz

New Month = New FOTM, New Poll AND New Pic

Posted by Michelle on 05 Jan 2009 || 4 Comments

It's January! Which means it's time for a new fan of the month, poll of the month, and something new here at BAE, picture of the month! But I'll explain that later, first up... fan of the month for January 2009 here at BAE is Chelsea, age 17, from the USA! To read what Chelsea wrote, click here! Congrats Chelsea!

Second, the poll of the month for January 2009 was inspired by the MTV article here. The question is "Which non-Twilight film starring a Twilight cast member are you most excited to see?" Vote on the right-hand side bar!

And last, but certainly not least, is the latest edition to BAE, something called PicOTM (picture of the month). The concept is the same as fan of the month of poll of the month. Every month I will choose a new picture from our gallery and feature it on the front page right-hand sidebar. There will also be an archive here. To view this month's picture just scroll down the right sidebar.

MTV: The Twilight Cast's Future

Posted by Michelle on 05 Jan 2009 || 2 Comments

MTV has a great article up about what's next for the Twilight stars (other than New Moon, of course wink). The article mentions Rob Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, Cam Gigandet, Ashley Greene, Anan Kendrick, Edi Gathegi, Jackson Rathbone and their upcoming movies. Check it out here! Thanks Jen!

Whether you love the "Twilight" phenomenon or think it sucks harder than a hungry Nomad, you'd be a foolish moviegoer to deny the fact that its fresh-faced young stars' newly bestowed Hollywood clout will influence dozens of films in the years to come. Much like "American Graffiti," "Dazed and Confused" or "American Pie" before it, each of the series' breakout actors will now head off to forge their own careers — with dreams of becoming more Harrison Ford than Mackenzie Phillips.

Special Edition Capricho Magazine & Best Kiss

Posted by Jenny on 03 Jan 2009 || 6 Comments

Brazilian magazine Capricho has a special edition Twilight magazine. It's priced at R$14.50 (approx £4.50 UK pounds), and is available now.

See the cover in our gallery here.

-----

The magazine also voted for the top 10 best kisses of 2008, and Rob & Kristen's won #1. See the article here. The text translates to:

Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart in..."Twilight". The move just came out but we voted the kiss between Edward Cullen and Isabella Swan the cutest of the year. Do you need reason to think why? First the love story between the vampire and the human is beautiful. Besides that Edward and Bella are a cute but different couple. And third cuz doesnt matter what kind of movie it is, they all need a kissing scene at the end, isnt it? Edward and Bella's kiss is just amazing.

Thanks to Daniella for the news and pic!

About: I was skeptical at first about the series. All my friends were reading it in 9th grade and I just wasn't into it. I had been burned pretty bad by a relationship and I just wasn't believing the whole 'love story' thing. Then, on one fateful night, I was at a book sale and was desperately seeking a new read. Twilight seemed to be glowing on the shelf and I was drawn to buy it. I didn't know why, like I said, I didn't want to even think about love. I went home and cracked open the fresh book. I instantly related to Bella. Her feelings became my feelings. Her curiosity became my curiosity. I carried the book around with me everywhere I went. I found myself even slowing down in reading it because I didn't want it to end. I closed the back cover and took a deep breath, then I realized something. I had learned to believe in love again. A simple book and taught me to believe in what I thought just couldn't exist. I also learned that every girl deserves their very own Edward Cullen. No one should settle for just some guy. He needs to be your guy. Your dream guy. Well, let's say I am not a skeptic anymore. As a freshman in college, I find myself having a lot of free time to re-read the books... again. I have my own 59 song playlist for all the books on my i-Tunes and I love that it brings me back to the moments in the books. I have met so many people just by saying that I am a "Twilighter". It amazing how passionate you can become about a novel. I am so happy I bought Twilight on a whim. It has transformed my life and taught me so much about myself. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to share my Twilight story.

About: Recently, my youngest aunt died unexpectedly in her sleep.I was left in the most depressed mood that I've ever experienced. I felt like something inside my heart had fallen out, was missing, and would never come back. It was a physical condition that literally made me uncomfortable. I thought of New Moon, and how Bella feels throughout that book. She is always holding herself together with her crossed arms. I realized that this was the closest description to what I was feeling. My chest hurt, like it was falling apart inside. Then I thought of how Bella turns into a zombie for several months and decided that I didn't want to be like that. I didn't want to lose myself in grief, and I know my aunt wouldn't have wanted me to do that either. I know that this case is different, in that I will never get that piece of my heart back for good, but I don't want to be like Zombie Bella. I want to be strong, like Bella becomes after her loss. I will never forget how Twilight helped me straighten my thoughts and fix myself in the worst times of my life. It takes an amazing book to do something like that. And an amazing writer to portray such a real and painful emotion so realistically. From all of the ways that Twilight has changed my life, this is definitely the biggest. It helpled to support me when I thought nothing could, and gave me hope when everything in my world was bleak.
