UK Tie-In Movie Novel

The UK tie-in movie novel is now in stock at Borders! It's £6.99, and is also in the 3 for 2 promotion. I'm guessing Waterstones now have it as well, and it's also in stock at Amazon.co.uk.
It's pretty much the same as the US edition, apart from a few small UK differences. I was quite excited, so I took pictures, which you can see here and here.

The LA Times have some interview outtakes from Rob Pattinson, in which he talks about the Twilight fans.
“When people come up to you, it’s completely understandable, but if someone’s secretly photographing you that’s kind of weird. I don’t think you’d ever get used to that. You can’t really live normally when that’s happening. But people coming up to you is always kind of nice. I don’t do anything during my day, so it’s someone to talk to.”

Nikki was at a Dashboard Confessional/Panic At the Disco concert last night, and Chris Carrabba from DC said he was a Twilight fan!
At the Disco concert last night in Lowell, MA and Chris said that he sister told him to read Twilight, he did, and he loved it. He went on and on about how great it was and then he said that his song "These Bones" was a Twilight song....it was awesome.

Most Borders and Waldenbooks stores nationwide will welcome fans Saturday, Nov. 15 beginning at 7 p.m. for free "Are You Ready for Twilight?" parties designed to give those anxious for the film's release an outlet to express their passion for all things "Twilight." Guests are encouraged to come in costume!
Parties can include activities such as a sure-to-be lively movie discussion
where fans can debate what they expect from the film, "Twilight" charades,
a quote contest challenging knowledge of the books and more. In addition,
part of the fun for Borders store customers will be a listening party featuring
the film soundtrack. Fans at some Borders stores will also be treated to a

In Sunday's UK Culture magazine, which is free with The Sunday Times newspaper, there was a small paragraph about Twilight. It says that a sequel has been greenlit, and that the merchandise is outselling everything but HP merch. There still hasn't been official confirmation of a sequel, so I think the writer was just wishful thinking.

The 29-year-old actor portraying Laurent tells us that, in fact, it wasn’t clear to him that he was auditioning to play one of the nomad vampires in the big-screen adaption of Stephenie Meyer’s hit novel “Twilight.” “I just remember having to read some very strange things to [director] Catherine Hardwicke,” he says. “I wasn’t sold until I read the book itself.”

Sunrise Records at Easgate Square in Hamilton, Ontario is also selling Twilight posters, they have 3 different ones... Edward, the original movie poster, and the group shot of the Cullen 'kids'. Also... the Coles in the same mall had many copies of the speacial releases of Twilight (with the two different covers: one the original movie poster, the other the Cullen 'kids'. The second one also has a special pull-out poster).

creative process and what do they do?
Robert Tonner: Not an easy question! Doll making/figure making is a
highly detailed process and to make a professional product, many, many
talented and knowledgeable artisans are involved. To start with, you need a
concept. At Tonner, that usually comes from me—however, the Twilight
series was a little different. One of our licensors approached me with a new
movie he was representing. Although it wasn’t that long ago, I had never
heard of Twilight. This particular agent is very on top of things, so I thought
I’d better get up to speed as fast as I could. As soon as I opened my eyes, I
realized that Twilight was everywhere. I picked up the books and read them
all—and I loved them. The license was for the movie, however, so I started
researching it and found there was already a world of information out there.
We quickly signed the agreement to be able to produce the characters from
the movie. The next step was the sculpting the characters.

MTV have announced that they are planning a Twilight fan celebration on November 7th in Los Angeles. Director Catherine Hardwicke will be there and they will show some never-before-seen footage from the film. Oh, and did I mention that they'll be taping it as part of a television special?
To attend, you must be 18 and be in Los Angeles on November 7th. And, of course, you must be a true hardcore fan!
So, how do you partake in this? Well, you must be registered with MTV and post in the comments at their announcement here. In the comments, prove to them just how much of a fan you truly are, then keep checking your MTV mail.
If you're one of the lucky fans chosen, make sure to let us know and send us your report!

we would like to confirm that the CD booklet on the physical CD will fold out into a Twilight poster! There are four versions of the poster, and they are randomly mixed throughout all of the CDs. There is an Edward, Bella, James, and a Bella/Edward poster that you could get in your CD.
Also – the iTunes digital album is available for pre-order today! The iTunes version includes 3 bonus songs – Rob Pattinson’s ‘Let Me Sign’, plus two orchestral pieces from the movie, La Traviata and Clair de Lune.

Lindsay has sent us some information about Rob appearing on Elvis Duran and the Morning Show on November 4th:
I was listening to Elvis Duran and the Morning Show Friday morning and I heard that Robert Pattinson is going to be on the show November 4th. I was listening to Z100 but I believe the show is broadcast on different radio stations as well (to find out which stations, check out the website www.elvisduran.com). There is nothing about it posted on the website yet (at least, I couldn't find anything).

Taylor Lautner, who portrays Jacob Black in Twilight, recently spoke with the LA Times. He's a very busy guy at the moment as he's currently working on the set of NBC's My Own Worst Enemy. Here are a few excerpts:
Talk to me about the sequels. Are you bulking up to play a werewolf? What’s the status?
They haven’t made any decisions whatsoever about sequels. I’m sure they’re going to wait for 'Twilight' to come out and see how it does before they make any decisions. It’s just a matter of waiting and seeing what Summit wants to do. But it would be fun. I try not to get my hopes up and even think about it.
Have you had any discussions with the director [Catherine Hardwicke] or anyone about it?
Not really. I tried to once, but she just didn’t even want to go there. Nobody wants to go there! It’s hard!

Kris has e-mailed to let us know that yesterday, at the Daytona Beach Ocean Walk Theatre, a Twilight trailer was shown before Max Payne.
I don't know if the trailer is being shown with MP at all cinemas, but it might be worth checking!

The Twilight movie TV spots have appeared on even more US channels... Jazmin saw it on Cartoon Network, Jaime saw it on Channel 32 (in between Family Guy), Jordan saw it during Desperate Housewives (Channel 9, ABC), Yusra saw it on ABC Family, and Lauren saw the first TV spot on the World Series!

Twilight fan, Sarah, has found out that her local theater will be selling Twilight movie tickets starting October 31 (that's this coming Friday)! Here's what her email said:
Tonight when my friend and I went out to see Saw V (at the AMC in White Marsh, MD) we were hoping to see the trailer for Twilight but sadly we did not but when the movie was over we went and asked the manager when they will start selling Twilight tickets. He said that they will start selling them on October 31st at the theaters and online at AMCtheatres.com. We were soooo excited.

New Movie Spot on TV

Shannie92 and Kate have e-mailed us with news of another new movie TV spot being shown on US TV. So far, we know that is has aired on ABC Family and Comedy Central.
My sister happened to be watching Full House on ABC Family and ran across a new TV preview for Twilight. It has quite a lot of things we havn't seen yet, so just giving everyone a heads up! - Shannie92

It was a different one, with some common scenes (like the ballet scene etc) that are in all the trailers, and a whole bunch of new stuff that i've never seen before!! Like Kristen crawling out of bed to go kiss Rob, and instead of that weird music playing it was a deep voice that was telling the story line. - Kate
So keep your eyes peeled Twilighters, and as soon as it surfaces online, we'll post about it here!

So I was at Chapters today, and I wasn't really paying attention, but just as I was leaving, I saw a huge bin with a Twilight sign on it. Naturally, I went to investigate, and it was a bunch of Twilight posters!! They had 4 kinds: Bella and Edward, Edward alone, Jacob alone, and the Cullens and Bella, but without Carlisle and Esme. I don't know if every Chapters is doing this, but I thought I should let people know so that next time they go they can check :)

HT Soundtrack Party Thoughts

Some of you have e-mailed your thoughts on last night's Hot Topic listening parties, and I'm going to post them here:
I went to the Twilight soundtrack listening party at Hot Topic in San Juan P.R., OMG Robert's song is BEAUTIFUL, I'm very surprised.. And Bella's Lullaby is LOVELY, but its TOO short. I'm sure that in that part of the movie I'm going to cry like a little baby! And the rest of the songs are great! - Nyvia
The party itself wasn't all that great. The songs were nice and loud though!
The part you all want to know about though, I'm sure is Bella's Lullaby.
It was okay, but they had like, an entire orchestra playing. There was piano, but mainly in the backround.... It didn't seem very "hummable" or whatever. It didn't sound like something Edward would hum over and over. I didn't get to hear Rob sing though. I don't think they played it, or I just wasn't paying attention. The rest of the songs were pretty good though. - Erin

I found out the other day that they have some Twilight posters available at Wal-Mart. I got two of them (the only two available) at the Eastgate Square location in Hamilton, Ontario. One is the poster of just Edward, and the other is the same as the original movie poster.

Perry Farrell's song 'Go All the Way (into the Twilight)' is exclusively available to listen to on Steph's site, on the audio player provided.
And Seth also has some news of Paramore's video for 'Decode' - we have just learned that the music video for Paramore's "Decode" will be premiering on November 3rd! You can watch it all day on MTV, MTV2, MTVu, and MTV.com.

Thanks to Ellini we have some news about the Twilight Collector's Edition and Mass Market paperback:
I wanted to let all the fans over at Bellandedward(dot)com that the Collectors Edition of Twilight has been pushed back to a Dec. 1st release in the U.S. The publishing dates have changed on the Borders and Barnes and Noble web sites.
Also I visited a local Barnes and Noble in Bloomingdale, IL and was surprised to find the mass market paperback of Twilight (with the movie poster cover of Bella and Edward) on their shelves.
I'm not sure what's happening with the US Collector's Edition, as although Borders and B&N have changed their dates to December, Amazon.com has it listed as November 12th.

This week's Amazon.com bestseller list includes five Twilight series titles!
Breaking Dawn, the latest book in the series, is #2 this week, while Twilight, Book 1 in the series, is at #3. Eclipse, Book 3, and New Moon, Book 2 are at #7 and #8 respectively. The latest addition to the best-selling list, "Twilight: The Complete Illustrated Movie Companion" by Mark Cotta Vaz, features full-color photos, behind-the-scenes details, storyboards and more from the upcoming film adaptation. The book won't be released until October 28th but it comes in at #10 this week in pre-orders.

Vale has sent us this information about the Rome Film Festival:
As you already might know, the press conference and/or the fan "meeting" at the Rome festival will be aired by the Coming Soon channel (you can view it online here: http://www.comingsoon.it/liveTVbig.asp or the live from Rome straight here: http://www.comingsoon.it/Primo-Piano-Page.asp?key=413 ), but if you manage to get sat networks, E! Entertainment will be on the red carpet and I think Rob, Kristen and Catherine will stop there too ;)

Erin has sent us this information, about some footage which is to be shown on Spike TV:
I was watching Spike TV and just saw a commercial for "Scream 2008" which is a halloween/horror film awards show, and they said they would be showing "never before seen footage of the new Friday the 13th movie, Twilight.." and another movie i didn't care about.
Scream 2008 is on Spike TV tomorrow night at 9PM EST - I'm assuming that means 8PM Central and 7PM PST, but I'm not 100% sure.

On Hot Topic's homepage, they have a link to the final Twilight trailer, as well as a countdown widget for the movie.
Also, if you click on the movie icon, you will be asked which team (Edward or Jacob) you're on. Click your team, and your merch page will be headed by that character! There are also links to film stills, a new HT Twilight blog, and movie wallpapers. Thanks to Kelci for letting us know!

Twilight Cast to Sign BD in Rome!

La Gazzetta di Forks has announced that Rob, Kristen & Catherine will be signing copies of Breaking Dawn at Melbrooks library in Rome, on October 30th (the day that BD is released in Italy), after the International Film Festival's press conference.

Thanks to Kim, we have a picture of two new large movie buttons/pins/badges that are available at Sam Goody's (an affiliate of FYE). Kim photographed them next to a penny, so we could see just how big they are!

MTV has a new article about the Twilight movie soundtrack listening parties, which will be held at Hot Topic stores. They also have some news about Paramore's video for 'Decode':
Earlier this week, Paramore shot a video for the song with director Shane Drake, and videos from the set — taken by frontwoman (and avowed "Twilight" fanatic) Hayley Williams — can currently be seen on Paramore's official Web site.

Edward Cullen Action Figure Revealed

NECA have officially revealed the Edward Cullen action figure, the first in a line of figures to be produced. Action-Figure have a write-up about it, as well as the image that Forbidden Planet previously posted.
The rest of the core characters are still awaiting approval, so it is too soon to tell who is coming first and exactly when.

It's being reported that Rob Pattinson will attend the Austin Film Festival on October 18th at 7:15pm for a showing of his film How To Be at the Regal Arbor Cinema in Austin, TX.

Canadian fan Kinsella e-mailed Cineplex movie theatres, asking if they would be screening the movie at midnight, and when advance sales would begin. Here's the reply she got:
Thank you for contacting Cineplex Entertainment regarding the Film Twilight. Unfortunately, there has been no date set for advance ticket sales or if there will be a midnight release. We suggest to continue to check www.cineplex.com or check back with us in November.

Kayla has sent us a reply she got from Cinemark cinemas, regarding midnight showings and pre-sales for Twilight:
At the current time we do not know which of our theatres will be showing
Twilight, and those that are will not know if there will be a midnight
showing until closer to time for tickets to go on sale. Advance tickets
for this film will go on sale October 24th and at that time all theatres
showing this film and who might be showing it at midnight will be listed

Deadline Hollywood and CinemaBlend are reporting that Summit have given the go ahead for a New Moon movie to be made.
When your soundtrack isn't even completed much less released (not until November 4th), yet it's already in the Top 5 Best-Selling Albums on Amazon based on pre-sales alone, you know you have a hit. Which is why Summit Entertainment's CEO Rob Friedman is already readying a Twilight sequel.

Che has sent us some news regarding a midnight showing of Twilight, at Wehrenberg Theatres:
I contacted my local theater chain (Wehrenberg Theaters, which is in
Missouri and Arizona) about midnight showings for Twilight and they told me
that there WILL be midnight shows at their theaters and they hope to have
tickets available online sometime THIS week.

Edit: Erica has sent us some info about Kerasotes cinemas holding midnight showings. This is the message she got from one of the staff:
We hope to offer special early advance shows for "Twilight". We are in the process of securing permission from the film's distributor.
Keep checking our website for more information: www.kerasotes.com.

A lot of stuff for people who haven't seen…like the treaty stuff with the Quileute family and then the vampires and how Dr Carlisle came together and made the treaty. It doesn't really explain that too much in the books so we're showing it more visually. So for the people who didn't read the books, they get to see what actually happens."

Twilight fan Kim brought up a good point in an recent email she sent us. Many movie theaters are still not 100% sure that they will have a midnight showing for the Twilight movie and it's up to us fans to show them how big of a fanbase Twilight has! Here's what Kim had to say:
Originally, I took it for granted that Twilight, like Harry Potter and superhero films, would get a midnight release. The management at my local AMC Theaters, however, has barely heard of the movie or book, and are unaware of fan support for the film. I was told that it would make a difference if the theater heard from these fans expressing interest in the film, and specifically asking about a midnight premiere. The situation may be the same for other theater chains that normally do these special engagement showings. I have not been told that they won't have one, just that they don't know at this time. Rather than let this be an uncertainty, I figured I would inform the fans at as many sites as I could to encourage them to call their local theaters, and to ask in person if possible. If we can organize in small groups and wear our Twilight shirts, it might make more of an impression on the theater staff. This weekend especially it might make a difference since the Twilight trailer is in the theater. If you go see Quarantine or Sex Drive maybe you can stop by guest services in Twilight gear letting them know you want to see the TRAILER on the big screen because you can't wait for the movie to be released.
So next time you go see a movie... show your Twilight spirit!

I arrived at the theater 45 minutes early and the teenage girls were already in line. Some had driven from Orlando; others from Oklahoma. Following the film, were scheduled to be doing a Q and A with Rob, via telephone. In person, another young actor would appear, Mike Pearce. Before the audience was let in, we tested the phone hookup that would allow Rob to hear me speaking into a wireless mic, and allow us to hear him over the speakers of the theater. "How did you end up in this film?" A stand in for Rob offered that he had been out drinking and met a man who said he looked the part. "Do you get all your work while drinking in bars?" I asked. "Yes," the imposter offered.

Make Up 411 has interviewed the Twilight movie's make-up artist Jeanne Van Phue, about the make-up she used on Rob & Kristen.
Actor Robert Pattinson had to wear colored contact lenses every day of filming in order to achieve the golden eyes and black eyes described in the book. “At the beginning, [director] Catherine [Hardwicke] visualized Edward in long hair…After studying his face and jaw line in the make-up test, the decision was made to go with short hair to accentuate his amazing jaw line,” said Van Phue.

We just got a tip, that the November 17th Twilight Premiere, has been moved from Grauman’s Chinese Theatre in Hollywood, to the Village Theatre in Westwood.

Rob on Music and His Twilight Songs

Rob Pattinson spoke with the LA times about the songs he made for the Twilight film and how he feels that music is really a back up plan and that he doesn't hope people think he's trying to cash in with his music. Here are a few excerpts:
“When I went to see the cut,” Pattinson said during an interview Wednesday afternoon, “she’d put these two songs in. They’re old songs, but one of them specifically, it really made the scene better. It was like it was supposed to be there. It’s strange because what was supposed to be at that point in the movie was a big orchestral film climax. Instead it’s this little song with acoustic guitar. I’m singing it, maybe that makes it different, but it’s kind of overwhelming. I hope it’s overwhelming.”
Although many actors try to work in film and television while juggling careers in the pop arena, Pattinson insists he won’t be one of them. “That’s what I was scared about, it looks like I’m trying to get a music career out of it or something,” he said. “I’ve never really recorded anything -- I just played in pubs and stuff –- and I really didn’t want it to look like I was trying to cash in. I hope it doesn’t come across as that. I’m not going to be doing any music videos or anything. Music is my backup plan if acting fails. I don’t want to put all my eggs in one basket.”

Twilight fan Angela recently found a small clip about Twilight in Fangoria magazine. Apparently there will be a feature about Twilight in an upcoming issue of the magazine! This is what she said:

Anyway, on the last page, there is a very small item about TWILIGHT the movie coming out, and information about the upcoming issue to be at newsstands by Oct. 21, which features a trip to the Twilight set.

Edi Gathegi, who plays Laurent in the Twilight movie, will be making a guest appearance on new show Life On Mars. The show premiere's in the US this Thursday on ABC (following Grey's Anatomy), and Edi will appear in the 5th episode of the show airing on Nov. 6th. The episode is entitled 'Things to do in New York when you think you're dead'.

Michael Welch: My favorite scene was when Mike asks Bella to the prom. It was one chance to some vulnerability which is always fun as an actor to go there. It was really interesting what happened during the scene was about three or four takes in I started to get that same feeling I got when I was 15 and in High School going through a similar situation. I also loved filming the prom where we got to dance and boogey which is always fun!
PopStar.com: Are you Team Edward, Team Jacob or Team Switzerland?
Michael Welch: I look at this a couple different ways. If I got the chance I would love to play Jacob. That is such a fun dark role. As Mike Newton it is hard to Team Edward. But stepping back, separate from all that. I would have to say Team Edward. I just love Bella! From the time I read it she was my favorite character so I would have to say for Bella, Team Edward.

If you live in the UK, Cam Gigandet is scheduled to appear on the Paul O'Grady show today at 5pm, on Channel 4.

Edit: Cam spoke about the fun he had whilst filming, shooting the ballet scene (including the honey & chicken being Rob's idea, because he needed it to be realistic), and the popularity of the books. They also showed a clip from the second teaser trailer, which made me get a little bit too excited!

The twilight 20somethings have a special project going on this October for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Along with our site "going pink," we are trying to raise money to donate to the American Breast Cancer Foundation
(http://www.abcf.org/). We have a special edition twilight themed "pink" shirt. We feature both a fitted women's t-shirt and normal t-shirt that can be ordered in child sizes. Usually all of our products have our logo on the back of them but we felt we would open up this chance to give back to all of the Twilight community, so we left it off this time. ALL of the commission we make will be donated to the foundation.

The soundtrack has exclusive songs written specifically for the movie from Paramore and Perry Ferrell. The Twilight soundtrack also features two songs from Robert Pattinson—this is the first time Rob has recorded or released music. And, of course, no Twilight project would be complete without Muse.

According to the Twilight Lexicon, there have been some changes to the Twilight event during the Austin Film Festival. There is no change to the official AFF site yet.
"The Texas Book Festival is proud to collaborate with the Austin Film Festival (October 16-23) on featuring a number of book-related movies being screened during the Film Festival, as well as a special event called Adapting Twilight – about the process of adapting Stephenie Meyer’s groundbreaking book – on Saturday, October 18th at 4pm at the Rollins Theatre at the Long Center for the Performing Arts (701 W. Riverside Dr.). Twilight screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg will be talking about adapting the book to film with a special guest from the movie possibly in attendance as well. AFF badges and film passes will get you priority seating to the event; individual tickets ($9) go on sale 30 minutes before the event takes place."
A special guest? I'll be attending the film festival that day so I'll try to get some "goodies" for you guys! Thanks to Heather for the news!

Twilight Premiere in Hollywood November 17th

Twilight Lexicon have found out that the premiere of Twilight will take place on Monday, November 17th, at Grauman's Chinese Theatre in Hollywood. They stated that fans are allowed to attend. Please realize that the normal method that this occurs is that there are bleachers/seats placed across the street from the theatre and that the street and fans are blocked from accessing the area where the stars will be (the red carpet). However, if you get there very early, you may get a good area and be able to get some autographs and good photos.

A Twilight fan named Alberta has told us that she saw a YA book at the bookstore titled: Sucks to Be Me : the all true confessions of Mina Hamilton, teen vampire (maybe) by Kimberly Pauley. And this is what it said on the first page:
Myth: Vampires don’t exist.
Truth: Dead Wrong.
My parents are trying to ruin my life. Oh yeah, I know that every teenager says that, but I really mean it. They want me dead. Or, actually, undead.
My parents are vampires. Some people might think that sounds cool, but I’m not talking about those romanticized bloodsuckers, like in novels where everybody walks around in ruffled white shirts and can quote poetry. I don’t know where people get that stuff. Nothing could be further from the truth. My dad couldn’t quote a nursery rhyme if somebody paid him. He likes to watch football and CNN. He wouldn’t know (or care) who Stephenie Meyer was if she came up and bit him.
Even better, a review of the novel describes Stephenie Meyer as the "queen of all vampire novels." How cool!

Details for TwiCon 2009 have been released! The convention will be from July 30, 2009 to August 2, 2009 at the Sheraton Dallas Hotel in Dallas, Texas. You can view their official website here. Thanks to Madison for the info!

The event will feature a Twilight movie screening, live Twilight inspired band performances, Volturi Masque Ball, opportunities to meet Twilight cast, dozens of breakout sessions, panels, workshops and more, as well as a Vendor Hall where dozens of vendors will be set up for your shopping pleasure. We will also have the Artists’ Alley, where you can display fan made art and goods.

Seth has updated Stephenie's site to let everyone know that a new Twilight trailer is expected in theatres on October 10th! There will also be a sneak peek on Entertainment Tonight's website on October 9th!
Summit has let us know that there will be a new, final trailer for TWILIGHT coming soon! It will be debuting in theatres on Friday, October 10th in front of certain movies (it is at the discretion of the individual theatres). There will also be a sneak peak of the new trailer on Entertainment Tonight on Thursday, October 9th. Immediately following the sneak peak, Summit is letting the fans be the first to see the trailer online in its entirety and share it.
He's also stated you can see the trailer first online using the Twilight widget, which you can get here, beginning 8:00 PM PST on October 9th for one hour. It will then be shown on MySpace at 9:00 PM PST in HD.

MTV: Paramore Song Debuts on Stephenie's Site

MTV have a new article about Paramore's song 'Decode', which will appear on the Twilight movie soundtrack. The song debuted on Stephenie's official site yesterday.
A source at Atlantic Records (which is releasing the album along with music supervisor Alexandra Patsavas' label Chop Shop) confirmed to MTV News that Paramore are scheduled to shoot a video for "Decode" sometime around October 13.

Andrea has asked us if we could post this petition, for all the Twilight fans in Tabasco & Mexico City:
The thing is that the release date for twilight in Mexico is on November 21 aswell, but only on Mexico City. We want to convince the theater in here that they ask for a copy of the movie to the other theaters in Mexico City, so fans from Tabasco, a state, could enjoy and love the movie the very same day it is released! Please help us, we'll be so grateful. Thanks so much!
