Twilighters.org Matt Bushell Interview
Posted by Michelle on 29 Jun 2008 || 0 Comments
Charlotte: Phil has no lines in the books, so how are you going to bring a virtually invisible character to life?
Matt: Right. How do you do that?. Well the beauty of this was, thank god for Catherine Hardwicke who took on this project because she allowed me to improv. So, there was a couple of lines in the script for me so it wasn’t completely without lines. But because of Catherine letting me improv I got more of a scene out of it. I had like one nice scene that I was involved in, where I had something to do and something to say instead of being completely silent. So in terms of the book, I didn’t have to do what the book told. I didn’t have to be completely silent in my time so I think Catherine was kinda good with that. And also, film is different. Film is different than the book. On film, to make this story carry, it’s gonna be a little different than the way it reads. And the brilliance of the book I certainly don’t deny but I’m really glad that they could work it out so I could speak.

BAE Exclusive Interview: Christian Serratos
Posted by Michelle on 26 Jun 2008 || 2 Comments

BAE: If you weren't playing Angela, which character would you like to portray in the movie?
Christian: Jane or Emily. Jane has the fun power. She seems to truly get away with murder. Emily seems like the character with the juiciest background. It would be great fun to play that out.
BAE: Have you met Stephenie yet? If so, what was she like?
Christian: She was fantastic. She is a great writer. Anything she writes I now have this need to be the first one in and get it. I wanted to tell her a mess of things about how exciting this was for me and how great I thought she was and well I think I just said "hi" or something like that. I'm not sure. I truly wish I remembered what I said. She was sweet.

Summit executives said they were experimenting with attaching exclusive theatrical trailers to their DVD releases for an added boost to future content. The supplier included a trailer for Dec. 12 theatrical vampire flick Twilight on the July 15 DVD for Penelope.
Bear in mind, this hasn't been confirmed by Summit, so don't take it as 100% accurate until we hear something official.

A few Twilight Tuesdays ago, we introduced you to one of the iconic automobiles in Stephenie Meyer's blood-soaked, heart-wrenching realm: The Mercedes S55 AMG driven by Dr. Carlisle Cullen. But if that kick-ass automobile is the Millennium Falcon of "Twilight," then this week's special guest is the franchise's iconic U.S.S. Enterprise.

Gallery Update: Publishing Leaflet Scans Removed
Posted by Jenny on 18 Jun 2008 || 0 Comments
Since our initial post, The Twilight Saga has posted a note regarding upcoming titles, which you can also see here.
As some of you may have seen, a few fansites have posted a scanned brochure on upcoming titles in the Twilight Saga that was given out at a recent publishing trade show. The information in that brochure was never confirmed or final and the information contained in the brochure was never meant for the general public. We can, however, announce the following titles that will be coming out this fall in connection with the Twilight Saga:
* Twilight Saga Collection Box Set: Box set containing all four novels in the Twilight Saga (Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse and Breaking Dawn), including four limited-edition prints (October 2008; $83.00)
* Twilight Collector’s Edition: Deluxe hardcover edition of Twilight, housed in a slipcase, includes a ribbon bookmark and newly-designed chapter openers (October 2008; $30.00)
* Twilight Mass Market Movie tie-in: a mass market is a smaller size paperback, it will feature movie art on the cover (November 2008; $7.99)
* Twilight Trade Paperback Movie tie-in: this is the size of the current Twilight paperback, but it is being repackaged with movie art and will have a full-color movie poster inside (November 2008; $10.99)
Just a reminder that any publishing information that does not appear on www.thetwilightsaga.com or www.stepheniemeyer.com should not be considered confirmed or accurate.
As this leaflet wasn't for meant for the general public, all scans and information other than what has been confirmed above has been removed from our gallery/news post.

Twilight Tuesday: How Faithful is the Movie to the Book?
Posted by Shelly on 17 Jun 2008 || Read more 7 Comments
Every good Twilighter remembers the moment early in the first novel when Edward Cullen is forced to reveal his superhuman powers in the school parking lot, instinctively saving the new student who has captured his heart. On the "Twilight" page, the moment leads to many paragraphs of anguished avoidance, as Bella tries to find an explanation (duh ... he's a vampire!) for the unexplainable.
In the film, those anguished early moments will be replaced by a field-trip scene that brings most of the major characters — including Jackson Rathbone's Jasper and Kellan Lutz's Emmett — together. On a school bus and in a greenhouse, the tension unfolds much more rapidly.
"There's probably a few less biology scenes than there are in the book, and there are probably fewer at Charlie's house, but mostly all the juicy stuff is there," Hardwicke explained of some of the verbose "Twilight" scenes that have been condensed for the film. "We might not go to the biology classroom five times. Instead, we went three times."

New Press Articles

Stephenie Meyer’s first venture into adult fiction, The Host (romantic science fiction), made the bestseller list again, more than a month after its debut. Meyer’s Twilight Fantasy Series also enjoyed a surge in popularity. In addition to The Host, BooksOnBoard’s special edition Twilight Fantasy eBook bundle (containing the Twilight, New Moon, and Eclipse eBooks) ranked in the top ten bestsellers.
Also, here is an article about the Twilight Tours in Forks.
The first Forks Chamber of Commerce Twilight Tour, which shows visitors places mentioned in Stephenie Meyer's novel and sequels, was a hit on Saturday, said Mike Gurling, Visitor Center manger.
The next two tours — on June 14 and June 28 — are fully booked, with this Saturday's tour drawing visitors from as far away as Ireland and New Zealand.
Last Saturday's inaugural tour took a fully-loaded 13-passenger van — filled with people from Ohio, Arkansas, Alabama, Oklahoma, Colorado and Arizona — to most of the locations highlighted in the books.
And the people at most of the tour stops played along.

Records from the road (The Host Tour: Part II)
Current mood: refreshed
Best T-shirts/costumes: Salt Lake City
Smoothest event: Denver (So is the superpower of the Denver-ites super-efficiency? Or is it super-politeness? Or do they have some kind of control over the space-time continuum? More research is required.)
Most familiar faces + most movie stars in attendance: Portland
Most boy fans: Los Angeles (37—and we only counted actually readers this time, though there were many supportive dads, brothers, uncles, husbands, and boyfriends in attendance.)
Loudest: definitely San Diego. (They also came in very close in the boy-fan and the familiar faces categories. It was a good place to wrap up my last big tour.)

Likes: Delicious fresh blood.
Dislikes: Having to kill people to get said delicious fresh blood.
Special Vampire Talents: Mind-reading.
Edit// Some of you noticed that the pictures weren't quite right on ReelzChannel, don't worry, they are fixing them now :)
Contest: Win A Copy of The Host
Posted by Jenny on 05 Jun 2008 || 0 Comments
To enter, all you have to do is tell us what you think the cover of Breaking Dawn means, in 25 words or less (to see the cover, go here).
Send your theory, along with your name, to the following e-mail address:
contest@bellaandedward.com
Anyone (from anywhere!) can enter, and we will let the contest run for a week, until Thursday 12th June, when we will then choose the best Breaking Dawn cover theory (so make them good!).
Please only send one entry per person, then it will be a fair contest. If your theory is picked, we will contact you for shipping details etc...
Good luck!

Copyright issues
Current mood: jedi
As some of you may have noticed, many people who have typed out or scanned either the entire books, portions of the books or first chapter of Breaking Dawn have received (or should be receiving) a message from their hosting companies that notices were sent from my publisher to take the content down. I know people are eager to share their excitement about my books, which I love, but you may not be aware that making portions of the book available for download is violating my copyright (unless you have written permission from me or my publisher). Quoting a sentence or two is fine, but anything beyond that is in violation of copyright. Basically, copyright gives an author control over where, when and how her work is made available to the public. This exists to protect the author and her work – a lot of effort has been put into creating these books for you to enjoy -- so I hope people cooperate in respecting the copyright for all my novels.
Thanks!
This is really a big deal. Stephenie is really nice to let fan sites likes ours and others be around, but if people continually push her, she may decide one day to cut off everyone from having fun. There have recently been some big law suits with authors and fans (i.e. RDR Books/Steven Vander Ark vs Warner Bros/J.K. Rowling), and we all really don't want anything like this to happen with Stephenie.
So, people, listen to her...if it doesn't belong to you, then don't - DON'T - take it - don't copy it/re-type it/scan it. Period. In the end, if people continue with violating her copyright, we'll all pay, and make Stephenie, and all the fans, very unhappy. So, just say no...
MTV Movie Link for those outside of the US
Posted by Julia on 04 Jun 2008 || 0 Comments
"After posting the MTV.com link yesterday, I made a lot of enemies throughout the world. I was unaware that it would not be able to be viewed outside the US, and I apologize. Although I cannot change anything about the copyright laws, a solution has been reported to me. You can watch the full MTV Movie Awards, and then you will be able to see the clip. It would seem that the highest concentration of my new enemies are in Canada and the UK (and I haven't even ever been to either country), so I have found links to the full show especially for you."
Click here to get the links.
THESE LINKS ARE FOR THOSE THAT LIVE IN CANADA OR THE UK.
Although the MTV video has probably already been uploaded on YouTube and what not, it might be good to view it officially on the right webpage. ;]
Enjoy!

It's just enough to whet your appetite a bit for the full scene up on a big screen ... and of course, by that point in the storyline, there will be plenty of dramatic tension from what's taken place before that to up the intensity level even more.

Posted by Jenny on 01 Jun 2008 || 0 Comments
To read it, go here.
SheKnows: Is it surreal for you that something so embedded in your imagination is now going to be on the screen for audiences to see?
Stephenie Meyer: Oh, yeah. I think the most surreal moment I had when I was on the set and it was a cafeteria scene. So there were literally 250 extras -- there were so many people. A giant room full of people, and all of them were there putting something together that I wrote in a quiet moment of life. It was just…wow.
