Movie in Pre-production

StephenieMeyer.com has just updated with the info that the Twilight movie is in pre-production. They also stated that there will not be an open casting call for the movie and that all actors are going to be found in the Screen Actors Guild.

So... is this good news? Or bad?


Twilight Comics

For those of you who missed the Twilight Mutts comics in the newspapers this week, you can view them online early here. They're pretty cute if you ask me smile

On a non-Twilight related note. Stephenie Meyer's new sci-fi book The Host has an official release date! It will be released May 6, 2008 and you can already pre-order it off of Amazon.

And last (but definitely not least!), BellaAndEdward.com's first birthday is this week! Well, the actual date is October 22nd but we're celebrating all week since starting this site was not a one day process. Lol, there will be something special up by this weekend, if not sooner. Keep an eye out for that!


Twilight Comic Strips

No you read that title correctly, I did say Twilight comic strips... can you believe it? Patrick McDonnell’s Mutts comic strip is doing a week-long Twilight-themed Halloween comic! It features a bird and a bat... named Bella and Edward! It will start appearing next Monday October 22, 2007 (which happens to be BAE's very first birthday!). But if you miss it, you can view them on his website (here) starting November 5th.

For lack of a better title (*points up at the title*) Lol, anywho... a couple of updates since I have the time today. First off, there was a mistake that I posted a while back. The release date of Breaking Dawn is NOT August 10, 2007. The Twilight Lexicon has just updated saying that Stephenie said it would not be released on a Sunday, so for those of you who pointed that out to me, you were right! I'm sorry!

Readergirlz is hosting a chat online with Stephenie Meyer. Stephenie gets the special Halloween midnight (Eastern time) chat! It will be on MySpace, click here for more information.

Also, just a reminder that the Character Slogan Contest on StephenieMeyer.com has begun! Don't forget to send in your entries! And while we're on the subject of forgetting. Do not forget to vote for New Moon on the ALA Teens' Top Ten of 2007! You have until the 20th of October! Click here and click the voting link to vote! Results will be out in November!

And last but not least, the Italian publishing company for Twilight is hosting their own contest! It's a fan art/fan film contest, click here to learn more about it.

Contest and Confusion

First off, the confusion part. Some of you might have noticed that the "site opened" date at the bottom of the sidebar said October 7, 2006. That might have confused you to think that that was BAE's first birthday. I'm really sorry but I made a mistake on that, it should say October 22, 2006 not the 7th. I've changed it to the correct date now and I'm sorry for the confusion! That means that BAE's very first birthday is coming up soon on October 22nd!

Now for the contest. No, sorry, but it's not a contest on BAE, but something even better! A contest on StephenieMeyer.com! Yep, that's right, Stephenie is having her own contest to see who can design the best character-related shirts! It's called the Character Slogan Contest and all you have to do is submit a two word "catch phrase" for a certain character from the books. Click here for the official rules. They will start accepting entries starting on Monday, October 15, 2007. Good luck everyone!

Four pieces of new fanart have been added to the gallery. The first one was made by Leen who has donated two other magnificent drawings in the past. This particular one is the Bella and Edward meadow scene! Click here to see it! Of the other three, two were donated by Nikki and the other one was made by Bella. About: I was skeptical at first about the series. All my friends were reading it in 9th grade and I just wasn't into it. I had been burned pretty bad by a relationship and I just wasn't believing the whole 'love story' thing. Then, on one fateful night, I was at a book sale and was desperately seeking a new read. Twilight seemed to be glowing on the shelf and I was drawn to buy it. I didn't know why, like I said, I didn't want to even think about love. I went home and cracked open the fresh book. I instantly related to Bella. Her feelings became my feelings. Her curiosity became my curiosity. I carried the book around with me everywhere I went. I found myself even slowing down in reading it because I didn't want it to end. I closed the back cover and took a deep breath, then I realized something. I had learned to believe in love again. A simple book and taught me to believe in what I thought just couldn't exist. I also learned that every girl deserves their very own Edward Cullen. No one should settle for just some guy. He needs to be your guy. Your dream guy. Well, let's say I am not a skeptic anymore. As a freshman in college, I find myself having a lot of free time to re-read the books... again. I have my own 59 song playlist for all the books on my i-Tunes and I love that it brings me back to the moments in the books. I have met so many people just by saying that I am a "Twilighter". It amazing how passionate you can become about a novel. I am so happy I bought Twilight on a whim. It has transformed my life and taught me so much about myself. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to share my Twilight story.

About: Recently, my youngest aunt died unexpectedly in her sleep.I was left in the most depressed mood that I've ever experienced. I felt like something inside my heart had fallen out, was missing, and would never come back. It was a physical condition that literally made me uncomfortable. I thought of New Moon, and how Bella feels throughout that book. She is always holding herself together with her crossed arms. I realized that this was the closest description to what I was feeling. My chest hurt, like it was falling apart inside. Then I thought of how Bella turns into a zombie for several months and decided that I didn't want to be like that. I didn't want to lose myself in grief, and I know my aunt wouldn't have wanted me to do that either. I know that this case is different, in that I will never get that piece of my heart back for good, but I don't want to be like Zombie Bella. I want to be strong, like Bella becomes after her loss. I will never forget how Twilight helped me straighten my thoughts and fix myself in the worst times of my life. It takes an amazing book to do something like that. And an amazing writer to portray such a real and painful emotion so realistically. From all of the ways that Twilight has changed my life, this is definitely the biggest. It helpled to support me when I thought nothing could, and gave me hope when everything in my world was bleak.
