"[When I was young], I was a huge fan of a guy who does a cameo in 'Eclipse,' a guy named Peter Murphy," revealed Billy Burke, the veteran actor who plays Bella's father, Charlie Swan, when he stopped by the MTV studios this week. "He used to be the singer of Bauhaus."
Bauhaus pioneered the "goth rock" music genre from 1978-1983, and although they were never hugely successful commercially, the band made a mark with such memorable songs as "Bela Lugosi's Dead," which the band is seen performing in the opening scenes of the 1983 vampire flick "The Hunger" (starring David Bowie and Catherine Deneueve), a longtime goth touchstone. In the years that followed, Murphy launched a solo career that featured early MTV hit videos like "Cuts You Up" and "All Night Long."
According to the post, Mr. Murphy plays a vampire in flashback sequences that occur at the bonfire, when Billy Black tells the old stories of the Quileute tribe.

Asked about the endless rumors of her supposed off-screen romance with Pattinson, for instance, Stewart got nicely fired up. “I probably would’ve answered it if people hadn’t made such a big deal about it,” she said. “But I’m not going to give the fiending an answer. I know that people are really funny about ‘Well, you chose to be an actor, why don’t you just f—ing give your whole life away?! Can I have your firstborn child?’”
... “I’ve thought about this a lot,” she said. “There’s no answer that’s not going to tip you one way or the other. Think about every hypothetical situation: ‘Okay, we are. We aren’t. I’m a lesbian.’ I’m just trying to keep something,” she said. “If people started asking me if I was dating Taylor, I’d be like ‘F— off!’ I would answer the exact same way.” Without missing a beat, Pattinson looked at Lautner, promising “Me too.”
MTV has more fan questions with the cast. This time it's with Kellan, Jamie, and Billy. The video is a brief clip with Billy. Click the link for the full post.
Spin Magazine Q&A With 'New Moon' Soundtrack "Mastermind"
Spin Magazine has a Q&A session with Alexandra Patsavas, music supervisor for the Twilight movie series. Click the link for the entire interview. Thanks to Julie for the information!
How you go about something like New Moon, which features original songs from so many artists who don't often appear in projects this high-profile? The work starts as soon as the script is finished and distributed. Chris Weitz, the director, had a very specific point of view about how he wanted the music to feel. There's a lot of separation and longing and loss in the movie; the bands and lyrics and sound and arrangements had to reflect that. Some folks, like Lykke Li, the Killers, Grizzly Bear, OK Go, and Anya Marina all came into the cutting room and sat with Chris to watch the movie and talk about their contributions. Other tracks were submitted with the movie in mind. I think it's very difficult to succeed without any context.

Harper's Bazaar Has Posted About the Kristen and Rob Photo Shoot
Screen Daily is reporting that Nicole Kidman has joined the cast of 'Bel Ami'.
In an intriguing star pairing, Twilight sensation Robert Pattinson is teaming with Nicole Kidman to star in Bel Ami, the film of Guy De Maupassant’s erotically charged story of ambition, power and seduction.
...this story about a young man’s rise to the top of Parisian high society in the 1890s, via the beds of the city’s most glamorous and influential women.
In a world where politics and media jostle for influence, where sex is power and celebrity an obsession, the film has, say the producers, a contemporary relevance which should resonate with audiences worldwide.
UPDATE: According to AceShowBiz, Gossip Cop had it right. While Nicole Kidman considered taking part in 'Bel Ami', it is not happening due to scheduling conflicts.
Today Last Day to Submit Your Questions For Cast at MTV
MTV's Larry Carroll is going to be sitting down with the cast of 'New Moon' very soon, and is asking for your questions. Today is the LAST DAY to submit the questions.
So... here's how it's going to roll. The interviews will consist of four solo sessions, with director Chris Weitz and stars Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner. There will also be three group interviews, with the members of the Cullen family, the Wolf Pack and the Volturi, respectively. That's seven interviews, four solo and three group. In the interests of keeping things fair (and manageable) please send along no more than one question per interview. We'll pare the list down (there's bound to be some overlap) and do our best to make your voices heard. To submit your questions, just e-mail us at tips@mtvmoviesblog.com before the end of the day today.

About: I was skeptical at first about the series. All my friends were reading it in 9th grade and I just wasn't into it. I had been burned pretty bad by a relationship and I just wasn't believing the whole 'love story' thing. Then, on one fateful night, I was at a book sale and was desperately seeking a new read. Twilight seemed to be glowing on the shelf and I was drawn to buy it. I didn't know why, like I said, I didn't want to even think about love. I went home and cracked open the fresh book. I instantly related to Bella. Her feelings became my feelings. Her curiosity became my curiosity. I carried the book around with me everywhere I went. I found myself even slowing down in reading it because I didn't want it to end. I closed the back cover and took a deep breath, then I realized something. I had learned to believe in love again. A simple book and taught me to believe in what I thought just couldn't exist. I also learned that every girl deserves their very own Edward Cullen. No one should settle for just some guy. He needs to be your guy. Your dream guy. Well, let's say I am not a skeptic anymore. As a freshman in college, I find myself having a lot of free time to re-read the books... again. I have my own 59 song playlist for all the books on my i-Tunes and I love that it brings me back to the moments in the books. I have met so many people just by saying that I am a "Twilighter". It amazing how passionate you can become about a novel. I am so happy I bought Twilight on a whim. It has transformed my life and taught me so much about myself. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to share my Twilight story.

About: Recently, my youngest aunt died unexpectedly in her sleep.I was left in the most depressed mood that I've ever experienced. I felt like something inside my heart had fallen out, was missing, and would never come back. It was a physical condition that literally made me uncomfortable. I thought of New Moon, and how Bella feels throughout that book. She is always holding herself together with her crossed arms. I realized that this was the closest description to what I was feeling. My chest hurt, like it was falling apart inside. Then I thought of how Bella turns into a zombie for several months and decided that I didn't want to be like that. I didn't want to lose myself in grief, and I know my aunt wouldn't have wanted me to do that either. I know that this case is different, in that I will never get that piece of my heart back for good, but I don't want to be like Zombie Bella. I want to be strong, like Bella becomes after her loss. I will never forget how Twilight helped me straighten my thoughts and fix myself in the worst times of my life. It takes an amazing book to do something like that. And an amazing writer to portray such a real and painful emotion so realistically. From all of the ways that Twilight has changed my life, this is definitely the biggest. It helpled to support me when I thought nothing could, and gave me hope when everything in my world was bleak.
I am not Stephenie Meyer. I do not know her personally, I am not related to her, and I cannot send a message to her for you. This is just a fansite made by a fan of Twilight. All of the Twilight books and characters are the property of Stephenie and her publisher. I do not own anything.
